This was fucking amazing to write
Edit: Oh my fucking god. The grammar in this was shit. I just fixed it. I'm so sorry you had to sit through this.
Harry and Draco had gotten a lot closer after Hermione and Pansy became friends. Not that Ron minded. Though, he did find it a bit weird how they looked at each other. He knew that Harry used to have a thing for Malfoy, but he stopped talking about him a year or two ago. He never found out why he just assumed Harry lost interest. It's Malfoy, why wouldn't he?

Everything pretty much went on as usual after befriending the bronze trio, with the added factor of Draco, Pansy, and Blaise hanging around them. And the six of them being sort of a group.
All of them are kind of friends, some closer than others. Ron and Draco are a good example. They accepted that the other was there and that they had to interact a tad bit civilly. Though the both of them never really got around to letting go of their childish rivalry.
So occasionally, you would hear a scrabble over a croissant or apple or homework answers, really anything one can think of. The fights were never too bad. Plus, the rest of the group thought it funny. Hence why nobody really made an effort to put a stop to them.

A few months after all of them started hanging out, Ron noticed a ring appear on Harry's finger. It isn't uncommon for wizards to wear rings even if unmarried, unlike in the muggle world, which Ron still finds weird.
The ring shouldn't have bothered Ron as much as it did. But, for some reason, there was something about it that just didn't sit right with him. He finally got the chance to look up close when he, surprisingly and very easily, asked Harry to see it.
Harry seemed delighted to show him and had a smile on his face the whole time Ron was looking at it on his... left ring finger?
Now, Ron knows that Harry doesn't know all the wizarding customs and traditions, he isn't that oblivious. But Harry surely has to know that placing a ring on your left ring finger means that it's a wedding ring or a promise ring. Ron didn't pay much attention to muggle studies, but, if he can remember correctly, muggles have the same tradition.
The ring has a white gold band and a huge smokey diamond. The diamond has an infinity symbol engraved into it, so small you might miss it if you weren't looking for it, and the ring band itself is shaped into an infinite symbol.
One might be wondering how Ron knows so much about rings. Well, he doesn't know shit everything was told to him by Harry. Also, he has to remember to ask Hermione what white gold is.
Ok... Harry has quite a bit of money and can afford things like this. The engraving though... He has to know. Right? Maybe it was to fend off all the fans trying to propose to him. It probably did get quite annoying.
Ron definitely didn't want to be the person to tell Harry what the ring he bought, which probably cost a small fortune, meant. So, he just hoped that Harry knows and is doing it on purpose.
Ron took his eyes off the ring and looked back up to Harry and complimented the ring. It truly is a beautiful ring and, if anyone would have given it to him as a promise, he would probably faint.

After that, Ron's thoughts of the ring died down until he noticed one on Draco Malfoy. He wasn't thinking when he spoke with food in his mouth, "Since when have you been wearing that?" He pointed to the ring. Obviously Draco didn't find it too pleasing to look at the half chewed pieces of food in his mouth.
