Claire's P.O.V.

True to her word, my mother spoke to my father.  My father, in turn, got Kumura, Senri, Yuki, and I seats in the trial.  The trial wasn't really even a trial.  It was just a discussion between God and my father to decide what to do with Rebecca.

"Where is it taking place?" I asked, after mom told us we were going.

"It's going to be held at Kaname's real estate office.  He chose there because it's somewhat neutral ground.  Us being demons, we can't really go to heaven and have the hearing so we''re having it here.  It'll be starting soon so we should go."

I drove my car with Kumura in the passenger seat and my mom in the back seat.  Kumura gave me directions to his father's office while I drove.  Senri and Yuki followed behind us with their grandmother in Senri's car.

The drive took about ten minutes and in that time, reality set in.  I was going to watch my aunt be punished.  I thought about everything that had happened since the school year had started.  One thought occurred to me, when Kumura and I were at his pool, someone had taken a picture of us.

"Kumura?  Do you remember the day at your pool when your dog pushed us in the pool and we heard that camera sound?" I asked When I parked the car.

"Now that you mention it, yeah, I remember it.  Do you think it was Rebecca?" he asked.

"The only way we'll find out is by asking her.  It does us no good standing around here guessing."  My mother walked past us and held the door open, "Come along children, it will start soon," she said.

Everyone waited inside Kaname's office for God to enter with Rebecca and Lucifer, "How long are we going to wait?" Senri asked, his voice a mere whisper as not to break he heavy silence that hung in the room.

Before Yuki had a chance to answer him, the office doors opened and my father, uncles, aunt, and an unknown man entered.  The stranger's entire aura seemed to glow with purity and holiness.  He must be God.

He was dressed in a simple white button down shirt tucked into a pair of black slacks. His appearance suggested that he was in his fifties but everyone in the room knew better, he was older than time itself.  He glanced around the room and his eyes stopped when he reached me.

Instead of judgment in his eyes, I saw love and compassion in the depths of his warm hazel eyes.  I felt my previously frazzled nerves be put at ease in his presence.  He offered me a kind smile before proceeding to Kaname's desk and taking a seat behind it.

"Lets get this trial started, shall we?"  His voice held so much power that I fought against kneeling down at his feet.  I looked around to see that my father and myself were the only ones still standing.  Even Kaname and my uncle's were kneeling down.

"Could you please retrain some of your power so that everyone doesn't fall to the floor every time you speak?" my father asked with annoyance clear in his tone and posture.

"My apologies, I just wanted to see with my own eyes just how powerful you have become Claire."  He did nothing to lessen the power in his voice, if anything he increased it.

My legs started to get weak but I stayed standing.  I looked to my right and saw my father collapse onto the chair behind him.  I thought that he would stop but he didn't, only increased the pressure in the room.

"Take my strength, you'll need it to continue this pissing contest." my demon's voice echoed in my head.

"Not yet," I told her.

"I'm impressed, this is still your human strength, you have yet to use you demon side.  You have outlasted my strongest angel, Lucifer, your father.  Should I feel threatened?" He released his hold on the people in the room.

"I am no threat to you.  The only person who should feel threatened by me in Rebecca, or should I say Britney?"

"That wasn't funny.  You could have just asked if she were stronger than me or not.  In fact, you already knew she was stronger than me."  Annoyance was clear in my father's tone and posture.  He leaned down and helped my mother up from the ground.

"I like to see things for myself.  Now, let us proceed.  Rebecca, step forward," he commanded.  Rebecca walked forward and glared at me and Kumura, "What are the charges brought against her, Michael?"

"She has compelled demons to do her work here, she has ordered them to kill in her place, she had Lucifer's beloved attacked and killed, and she has planned an uprising to overthrow you, my Lord," he answered.

"I see, what are your reasons for doing these crimes?" God asked.  I really didn't see the point of the questions, he already knew the answers.  I remained quiet during his interrogation of Rebecca.

"Gosuto stole Lucifer from me, she deserved to die, Claire kept Lucifer bound to Gosuto, she deserved to die, and you are not fit to be in charge anymore.   You let so many of those filthy, thieving humans into heaven and they don't even deserve it.  If it were up to me, I'd deliver true judgement."  She spoke with so much confidence that one could almost believe she was truly confident.  However I saw the fear on her eyes, the sweat that was beginning to form on her brow, and most of all, I caught the sent of fear that her body released.  Every demon in the room could smell the pungent odder of her terror.

"Do you know why Lucifer agreed to leave heaven so readily?  Hmm?  He left to escape your greedy claws," he paused and turned towards my father, "Do you happen to have a dark corner you can shove her in for the rest of eternity?"

"There is no way in heaven, hell, or earth, that you are sticking her with me for the rest of eternity," I laughed at the look of pure horror on my dad's face, "Well, do you have any suggestions?" he asked me, exasperated.

I thought for a moment, "Actually I do, what does Rebecca hate most, besides everyone in this room?"

A sly grin appeared on Kumura's face, "Humans," he said, catching my drift.

"Exactly.  Turn her human and have her be reincarnated again and again for the rest of eternity.  She hates humans so make her into what she hates," I said with some triumph in my voice.

God chuckled, "She really is your daughter.  Alright, Rebecca, your sentence is to live on this earth among the humans that you despise as a human yourself."

"Rebecca, I just have one question, was it you who took the pictures of Kumura and I?" I asked.

"I was doing background research." Was all she said as she was lead out of the room by Gabriel and Michael.

Kumura looked down at me and pulled me in for a kiss.  His tongue played at my lips for entrance but I pulled away, "Not here," I whispered.

He gave me a breathtaking smile before whispering, "It's finally over," in my ear.
