Before insanity

Meeting new people

Me and Liu exchanged looks before walking into our new school. We just moved here last week and now we have to start all over, again... Great, I have issues making friends due to my temper and low tolerance of well people in general 

"Try not getting into to much trouble, bro." Liu said as he looked over at me.

"I'll try not to but I can't promise you anything." I laughed and he just rolled his eyes as we wen't out separate ways "Alright let's see, I have Algebra B first." I said to myself as I looked over my schedule  but my thoughts were interrupted by a sniffling noise. I looked up and walked to the source of the sound witch was coming from under the stairwell.

I then saw a kid with messy blonde hair wearing a green sweater that was clearly to big for him. I couldn't see his face though due to the fact that he had it buried in his knees as he sobbed quietly. I opened my mouth to say something but quickly shut it, whatever his problem is, is his problem. Besides he probably  doesn't want to be bothered anyways, so I just turned around and went to my first class..

After six hours of living hell I met up with Liu outside the school and we started walking home "How did your day go?" I asked him and he shrugged.

"It was okay, I met a few people... Why is it that everyone is obsessed with the new kid? So many questions I had to answer all day."

"Haha! That's because you're way to nice all the time."

Liu rolled his eye's at me again, "Well not everyone can walk around with an expression that looks like you want to cut their heads off!"

Okay, first off I do not walk around looking like I want to cut people's heads off, sure I don't walk around with a big smile on my face but I'm not that bad, "Yeah well people don't bug me , so who's crazy now?" We then laughed but quickly turned around when we heard a loud scream "What the hell was that?" I asked.

"I have no idea, sounded like someone screaming. Probably just some kids messing around." Liu said turning back around and walking away

"Let's go check it out." Without waiting for a reply from him I took off running and ran over to where I heard the scream. When I finally made it I was a bit out of breath but more so shocked at what I saw, four kids were huddled in a small circle laughing as they kicked and punched something or better yet someone.

"Hey! What's going on?" I asked one of the kids.

"Hey, dude you're the new kid right?" One of them said in a voice that just makes you want to smash their head into a brick wall.

"Yes but that doesn't answer my god damn question." I snapped at the idiot 

"Oh well we're just having some fun with out favorite little weakling."

I raised an eyebrow then looked in the center of the four idiots and saw the same boy from earlier.

 He looked up at the kids with his bright green eye's , "P-Please stop!" He yelled as tears streamed down his face causing the other kids to laugh and when one of the bullies pulled his fist back to punch the boy in his already bruised face, something inside me snapped and I jumped in front of the boy and grabbed the kids fist and bent it backwards till I heard a snap.

The other three looked shocked as the kid screamed out in pain "Okay, so who else wants to walk away with a broken bone?!" I yelled 

One of them laughed and went to go lunged at me but I easily dodged him then grabbed him by his arm and kneed him in the groin  before punching him in the side of his head. "Fuck!" He yelled in pain 

"Come on guys, this kid isn't worth it." And  with that the four idiots ran away with their tail between their legs.

"That's right, run." I said before looking at the boy who was on the ground "Are you okay?" I asked as I helped him up.

"Y-yeah." He replied softly 

"I'm Jeff." I stuck my hand out and he flinched as he stumbled backwards and covered his face with his hands. "Hey, hey! I'm not going to hurt you."

"Promise?" He looked up at me as he uncovered his face.

"Yes, I promise." I smiled "I wouldn't of beaten up those bullies for you if I wanted to hurt you."

He just started at me for a few seconds "I-I'm Ben.." He stuttered again. I think he still doesn't trust me.

"Nice to meet you Ben, feel free to come and find me if anyone else gives you anymore trouble. I live a few blocks that way." I pointed in the direction of my house "It's the very last house on the left."

Ben nodded "O-Okay, thanks but I really have to go now, bye!" He then ran off quickly.

"Not your brightest idea!" I turned around to see Liu who was glaring at me.

"What?" I asked annoyed "Nothing is going to happen."

"You're going to gt yourself into trouble, again!"

"No I'm not, I'm sure this whole thing will blow over tomorrow." I said pushing past him and heading home but of course he runs up next to me and continues nagging.

"And what if it doesn't? And why would you tell that kid where we live!? He could be some creep."

I just rolled my eye's at his outburst "He's not a creep and please tell me, when did you become my wife?"

"You don't know that, those kids were probally beating him up for a reason and shut up!"

I laughed and ruffled his hair "Grow a sense of humor, bro"

"I do have a sense of humor, I'm just trying to look out for you.."

"Well last I checked, I was the older brother, it's my job to look after you." I said as a small smile formed on my face.

Liu just shock his head and chuckled "Yeah, yeah but still! It can both ways too!"

I just chuckled as we finally made it back home.

Once we got inside I tossed my backpack on the floor near the door and headed to the living room with Liu following close behind. "You do realize that once mom and dad find out you beat up three kids that you're so going to be grounded, right?"

I quickly turned around to face him and snapped back "Mom and dad aren't going to find out and you're going to keep your mouth shut or I'll punch you."

"You say that now bu-" I gave him a death glare causing him to stop mid sentence "Okay, mom and dad won't find out."

"Damn straight." I muttered as I  sat on couch and turned on the  TV.
