I was pissed ready to kill whatever touched Lilith. I never wanted to be separate from her. But I knew that Carlisle was right, if this has been happening for a long time she might have been brainwashed into thinking that it is normal or she might be in denial trying to process or give reason to this all.
"Jaz calm down you're putting me on edge" Alice looked up at me tangled in Thomas's arms
"Sorry Ali" I chuckled as she stuck her tongue out at the despised nickname "has anyone seen Lilith"
"Jasper she has to go home you know that," Edward dropped his hand on my shoulder as he looked straight into my eyes, he defiantly knew more than he was letting on, I would have to question him later "not my story to tell sorry Jaz"
"Not if I can help it" I growl as I spot Lilith leaving the school and turning in the direction of her house, pouncing on the opportunity I hurried over to her "Lilith come on, my siblings are excited to meet you, especially Alice" I linked my arm gently around hers as I soothed her emotions and led her to everyone else
I kept my hand wrapped around hers throughout the whole way home, keeping Lilith relaxed, hoping that the calmer she is the more open she would be with me. Keeping a firm hold of her hand as I opened the glass door we were greeted with the smell of the baking. "I would like you to meet my mother, Esme"
As soon as we turned the corner into the kitchen as if right in queue Esme turn around to face us "you must be Lilith, it is so lovely to meet you, dear" full of grace as usual Esme crossed the room stopping just in front of us and opened her arms slightly, I look down at Lilith and gave her a slight nod encouraging her next movements, she unsurely steps forward into the light embrace of my mother
"Hello, it's lovely to meet you Mrs Cullen" she smiled and instantly calmed down trusting my mother
"Please call me Esme" Lilith came back to my side and I pick up her hand again and lead her around to my room, I was determined to find out what was going on
I guided Lilith over to my bed and sat her down on my bed, I carefully picked her hands prompting her sleeve to fall "Lilith where did you get those bruises" I gently placed my hand on her cheek lightly rubbing my thumb just under the newly forming bruise, just under her eye, trying to hide under the neet layer of makeup.
"I... I... I fell" it was clear that she was lying as she refused to make eye contact with me, I wanted to push harder but I was afraid that pushing too hard would most likely make her close off from me, so I decided to wait for Carlisle to get home before bringing up her injuries again
