Lilith looked so peaceful as she slept. I could feel Carlisle shock and anger as he saw the full extent of her injurys, it did not help how I was feeling "Jasper remember who you are, killing who ever did this to her, will only make her afraid" I realised that I must have been growling by Carlisle calm but informative tone, making me bow my head submissively.

After what felt like hours, Carlisle finished mending her cuts and bangdging her, I felt horrid for not being able to protect my mate. I picked up her small frail body in my arms and walked down the hall when Alice stopped me, "she can not go to bed in those she is covered in blood" I shot Alice a look of annoyance but gave Lilith to her. I sat in the guest room waiting for Alice to finish.

"Took you long enough" I took Lilith from her arms and softly laid her on the bed gently placing the sheets over her small frame. Alice lay her clothes on the chair on the other side of the room, I sat with her for about an hour waiting for her to wake up.

I left to go on a hunt with Carlisle, when we retuned I headed strait for the stairs, a quiet groun from Liliths room reached my ears, Carlisle and I made our way her, slowly opening the door. I quickly went to her side sitting down next to her. "How are you feeling," her hand relaxed on the sheet next to mine, I took her hand in mine.

"Fine just a bit achy, how long was I asleep for" I helped her fear slowly melt away

"Several hours, it is nine o'clock now" Carlisle looked at his watch

Anxiety and fear started to rise in Lilith "I... I should go, I have to get home" she went to get out of bed when her face filled with pain.

I placed my hand against her shoulder guiding her down to the pillow "it is very late you are in no fit state to go home, why don't you go back to sleep and will take you back in the morning before school" she tried to get back up but I lightly kept my hand on her shoulder keeping her from leaving the bed and ripping her stitches, using my gift, slowly allowing her to fall asleep
