also ur from Italy because you're related to Lila)

Y/N-

I frowned, standing at the door of my cousin's room. It was almost time to leave for school and she hadn't even woken up.

"Lila!" I yelled as the sleeping girl groaned at me. "It's my first day here and you're supposed to be taking me to school."

Lila's face was a portrait of thunder as she pushed herself off the bed. It was clear she didn't want to go. "I'll get ready, go wait downstairs."

I flew down the stairs, barely containing my excitement. Going to school and meeting the Parisian teens was one of the things I'd been looking forward to since moving to Paris.

After a forever of waiting at the door, Lila joined me and we started walking to the school.

As Lila and I were walking into school, I noticed a few disgruntled looks flying our way. I shrugged it off, my thoughts centered on the class I was about to attend.

"This way, you're in my first period class," Lila said, peering at my schedule.

As I entered the door, a tall woman with strawberry-colored hair smiled at me. "You must be Y/N Rossi, correct? I'm Miss Bustier and I'm your teacher."

Lila glanced at me before walking off to her seat, leaving to stand awkwardly at the front of the classroom.

Miss Bustier welcomed more students entering the classroom before instructing me to take a seat the back of the classroom next to a short boy with glasses called Max. I was in the aisle across from my cousin.

"Hi," he smiled as I sit down. "I'm Max."

I extended my hand as he shook, "Y/N."

"Class, I'm pleased to inform you that we have a new student joining us," Miss Bustier said, gesturing for me to stand up. "Y/N, would you like introduce yourself."

All eyes turned to me and I smiled, "Hey, I'm Y/N Rossi. I'm from Italy and, uh, now I'm here...?"

"Make sure to make Y/N feel welcome!" the teacher said before turning to the board ready to start a lesson.

"Rossi, uh..." Max frowned, whispering to me. "You're related to Lila."

"Yeah, we're cousins."

"Oh..." Max seemingly shuffled a little away from me at that.

I frowned but paid no mind, focusing on the lesson.

Lunchtime was a nightmare. I didn't know where to sit at all and Lila hadn't come from her last lesson.

I lined up for food, dreading having to find a seat. I stood idly at the end of line for a while, staring at the sight in front of me. The cafeteria was crowded with people, none of which looking particularly welcoming.

"Are you okay?" a voice said behind me.

I blinked and turned to face them. "Uh..."

A boy stood before me. He was beautiful, with striking green eyes and golden hair. He smiled and held out his hand, "I'm Adrien. I think we're in the same class."

Goddamn. I wanted to stare at him admiringly, but I composed myself and took his hand. "Yeah.. I'm Y/N."

"Do you need somewhere to sit? You can sit with me."

"Really? Thanks, that'd be great," I smiled and followed the boy to a crowded table.

I didn't recognize anyone at the table. Other than Adrien and I, there was three other people at the table.

"Guys, this is Y/N. Y'know, from our class. The Italian one?" Adrien said as he sat.

"Yeah.. we're all in your class," one girl said, looking around the table. "I'm Alya, this is Marinette and Nino and I'm gonna assume you already know Adrien."

"Nice to meet you."

"Hey, you've got the same last name as Lila."

I opened my mouth to speak when I was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Y/N, what are you doing?" Lila hissed, grabbing my forearm. To the group she said, "Hah, sorry that she's bothering you guys. We'll be off."

I looked at her in confusion and snatched my arm off her.

"Y/N, these people don't like me."

"Sucks to suck," Marinette mumbled.

"Is everything okay?" Adrien asked, skeptically peering at Lila who continued trying to pull me out of the seat.

I gave up and stood, still being tugged at by Lila, "Uh.. I guess I just need to go over here for a bit."

Adrien blinked in surprise as the stone-faced girl lead me away. She sat me at a table hidden from their sight.

"What was that about," I frowned.

"Look," Lila said. "Before you got here... those kids, the ones you were sitting with... they bullied me. They were nice to me until I thought we were friends and then they started mocking me and hurting me. You don't want to be friends with them."

I gasped and took her hand, "That's awful. I'm so sorry Lila. I wish I could've known."

"It's okay. Just please don't confront them about it," she said. "I don't want to make it worse."

"Of course."
