Y/N-

Lila was sick the next day, and well, the rest of the week, which, left me sitting in the empty table away from Adrien and his friends.

Upon learning of what Lila had told me about them, I made sure to avoid them at all costs. It kind of sucked for me though, because it limited the already restricted number of people I could talk to.

Max had warmed up to me, though whenever he seemed to be getting interested in our conversations, he peeked at Lila's empty seat and shut his mouth.

Weird.

Adrien tried talking to me a few times during the week but I made it clear I didn't want to speak to him.

The end of the week arrived and I was packing up my belongings. I was one of the few people left in the classroom.

I was pulling a bag strap onto my shoulder when I heard Marinette's voice from just outside the classroom. "Yeah well she is the cousin of Lila Rossi."

Alarmed at this, I ducked behind the door to listen.

"She can't be all that bad. She seems nice," came Adrien's reply.

I felt my cheeks heat, smiling a little, but I shook it off, remembering how they'd hurt Lila.

"So did Lila and look how that turned out."

"Y/N hasn't created a bunch of lies for attention."

Huh?

"Yet," someone said. I could hear the group's footsteps walking away.

Lila had lied? Surely not. Why would I believe a bunch of strangers over my own cousin. But they weren't even talking to me...

I'd confront her about it when I got home, I decided.

-

"What? I told you that you shouldn't confront them," Lila coughed, sitting up in bed and dramatically placing a hand on the forehead. "Now they're going to make life so much harder for me."

"I didn't confront them. I overheard them talking," I frowned. "It makes sense for you to lie to your classmates at least - you're even pretending you're sick right now! What doesn't make is for someone like Adrien being a bully."

Lila coughed again, "Fine. You got me. Adrien didn't bully me but his friend Marinette did."

"Uh huh."

At this point, she grabbed my hands, "Come on Y/N, you have to trust me."

"Well I can't now, can I?" I pulled my hands away and exiting Lila's room.

I could feel her angry eyes glaring at me even after I left her room. I frowned and went onto the balcony through my room.

There was a light breeze and a cool chill. I inhaled, absentmindedly staring at the sunset over Paris. If I'd been in a better mood, I would've enjoyed it rather than trying to accept the fact that my cousin was a shallow liar.

"Why so down, fellow Parisian?"

My heart raced as I jumped at the sound of a voice. Bright emerald eyes met mine as I turned. Gasping, I backed away as a man dressed in a cat costume watched me, a roguish smirk on his lips.

"Who are you?" I said, which seemed to catch him off-guard.

"Who am I?" he repeated, his grin expanding as he bowed. "It's none other than I, the great Chat Noir. And you are?"

"I- Um, I'm Y/N," I muttered, unsure of what was happening. None one had said anything about a Chat Noir.

"And you haven't heard of me, I'm guessing?" Chat Noir leaned smoothly against the railing. "Well, I'm a superhero."

"A superhero?" I was unamused. With my memory of Lila's lying still fresh in my mind, I wasn't going to let another person stray me from the truth.

"Uh huh. Shocked you haven't heard of me, milady," he winked.

"You're quite a flirt for a superhero."

"Yeah, but I'm getting the impression you don't quite believe me," Chat Noir said. "Not a Parisian then?"

I shook my head, "Moved here about two weeks ago."

"And you haven't seen the news? Looked out your window when there's a villain? Nothing?" he was looking at me as if I was crazy. But then, his face changed as he held his gloved hand out towards me. "Well then, allow me to prove it."

Reluctantly, I placed hand in his and allowed him to wrap an arm around my waist. He had a metal stick with a green paw print imprinting in the middle of it. He pressed it and the stick extended.

Before I knew it, I was sailing above Paris, clinging to the cat man for dear life.

"Don't you close your eyes, you'll miss it all!" Chat Noir whispered to me.

I held my breath as one of my eyes slit open. The setting sun cast orange shadows on the buildings. "It's beautiful."

We were nearing the Eiffel tower. Chat Noir landed on the top of it and placed me down, gentler than I expected. His green eyes were alight as he took in my expression. "Enjoyed it, I see."

"You really are a superhero!"

"What can I say. It was preposterous you didn't believe me first, milady," he smirked as he sat himself down beside me.

I gazed at the sunset, assuming Chat was doing the same.

"You're a really pretty girl," he said.

My eyes widened as I ripped my eyes away from the sun. He looked back at me, a light blush on his glowing face. His tone sounded different as it had when he'd made flirtatious comments earlier.

I couldn't stop staring at him. In that moment, he was a picture of beauty, eyes brighter than his shining golden hair.

"Thank you," I replied, forcing myself to look away to conceal the blush growing on my face.

Together, we returned our gaze to the sunset, the silence between us electrifying. My heart was pounding so loudly, I was almost certain it was disrupting the silence.

"So, you haven't heard of Ladybug and Chat Noir till today?"

"Nope."

Chat Noir snuck a little glance at me before continuing. The sun had long set as we stared at the early evening stars. The superhero told me of his adventures with Ladybug, fighting akumatized villains.

He spoke highly of Ladybug.

Chat Noir dropped me back on my balcony and pressed a kiss on the back of my hand. "I hope to see you again sometime, purrincess."

With that, the masked superhero turned and left me standing on my balcony staring after him, smiling myself stupid.
