I felt a rush of heat flow to my cheeks and I walked towards Adrien. How embarrassing. I'd been so quick to judge - and how rude I had been to him, ignoring and avoiding him. I had decided to apologize.
"Adrien?" I called, gaining the boy's attention.
As I reached him, I could see the visible surprise in his eyes, something he tried concealing.
"Can I help you?" he asked.
"I just wanted to apologize," I said, meeting his eyes. "Lila told me you guys bullied her and that I shouldn't be friends with you. She, uh, lied."
Adrien's eyebrows raised, "She'd lie to her own cousin."
"Since coming to Paris, I hadn't seen her in years," I said, looking down. "She's changed."
"Well, you can still sit with me if you want."
I looked up at the boy in front of me. He was so quick to forgive. I was rather surprised, "Really?"
He smiled and a thousand butterflies came alive in my stomach, "Of course. You haven't done anything wrong."
My heart leapt, until he continued talking, "We should probably explain to the others though."
-
"And so I wasn't really the nicest to you..." I finished, looking around at Adrien's friends.
A anxious feeling snaked around my body as I waited for a change in their expressions, their words, anything.
"Dude, Lila kinda sucks," Nino finally said, crossing his arms. "So not cool."
I blinked and then laughed, which was also matched by the laughs of Adrien, Alya and Marinette.
"How about we start again," Marinette said, sticking her hand out. "Without any input for Lila."
I smiled and shook her hand, "Sounds good to me."

Music blasted through my earplugs as I tapped my foot on the floor with the beat. Other students milled around the library in silence. I tried focusing my Math homework, but it was didn't interest me in the slightest.
Suddenly, there was a voice loud enough to be heard over the booming music in my ears, "AKUMA ATTACK!"
I pulled my earplugs out and looked around. People had started running about the library like crazy. I recognized the word 'Akuma;' it was something Chat Noir had told me about, something that turned people into supervillains.
I felt frozen to my seat in shock until a teacher came towards me and mentioned something about needing to evacuate. In a daze, I tried to follow them, but in the panic of the moment, I was confused and lost track of them. By the time I had come to my senses, there was no one left in the library but me.
I was on my way to the door out when I heard a low but loud voice say, "Pauletttte. Where are youuu?"
I bit the inside of my lip as fear crept into my gut. I didn't know what to do, and the voice sounded as if it were coming closer. As I heard footsteps approach the library door, I ducked under a table.
The doors swung open. From under the table, I could see a pair of shiny black boots at the doorway.
"I know you're here Paulette," the person said, their boots taking them around the library in search.
