PROLOGUE

"Power to the women who are venom."

You drag a slender finger across his chest, lips curved up into a side smirk as your long, black nails scratch the surface of his tuxedo. He props a brow upwards. Mockingly, you raise a shaped eyebrow of your own and laugh, the amused sound a haunting hymn to any man unlucky enough to hear it.

"Venom?" The man hums, intrigued, the reverberation from each syllable resonating with a rich, velvety rumble. Your lush stilettos click to a halt as he speaks, eyes narrowing on him. "And what would make a man like me believe such a statement?"

Taking one brief stride to his figure, your fingers tap in touches of a ghost across his clothed forearm, another light chuckle escaping your lips. 'Why do men even dare?'

Minty breath mingling with the peach fuzz of his tanned cheeks, your rosy lips grow only centimeters from his. His eyelashes flutter as he observes your movements, breath hitching at the close proximity.

Just as your lips brush his, you dart over to his ear and whisper, tucking back a strand of his dark hair tauntingly.

"Because I am a woman with that power."
