The pitter-patter of nighttime Seoul rain brings peace upon the usually busy city, a place which always seems never without the shine and shimmer of thousands of neon lights. Splashes of violet, blue, and even oranges and greens paint the vast city and illuminate asphalt, setting ablaze the streets with tranquil saturation.
It's enough too lull even the rowdiest of children to sleep, hushing them gently and ensuring them their business can wait until the morning. While the ungodly and immoral lay in the trenches below the surface, sleepy serenity befalls over citizens as the blue moon rises. At last, they are all safe and sound.
Or, that's what you wish you could say.
No; this city is entirely, positively downright foul. You, of all people, learned that at a young age.
Used, neglected, thrown aside — all of it. All as a child. It all leads to why you learned quicker than anybody else that Seoul, South Korea is not the peaceful, fascinating place everybody says it is. Seoul is a sinister place for women like you.
The lights of brilliant neon magentas, purples, blues, and oranges fade hastily into black and white, and all at once, the true colors of the place shone through. It was crystal clear. When you walked on the streets as a child, you no longer saw a place you could call home. Instead, you saw crime, injustice . . . rape.
You dread it. You cannot even bear to think about it . . . being used . . . When your feelings aren't even considered for a second. But, of course, you had to get used to it.
That's why when you're asked by a complete stranger to spy on people of the government of all things, you don't even bat an eyelash.
"Spy?" you say, repeating his words as if you hadn't heard them correctly. "You want me to be your spy?"
Taehyung, as you've discovered his name to be, tilts his head and raises his eyebrows nonchalantly. He nods, replying, "A spy, a gunman, an accomplice. Whatever you want to call it. One of my teammates with a more concentrated purpose, per say."
You laugh, tucking your arms in between each other. 'Why am I even surprised?'
Jungkook raises a brow as you chuckle, shaking your head and turning around to look at Yoongi. Yoongi stares at you, mouth agape at Taehyung's words. Now, you're starting to understand why he's so disbelieving of the entire situation.
"You expect me to spy on the president?" you let out. Taehyung sighs as if he's been through this millions of times before.
"Not exactly," he says gruffly. "Not exactly the president, but the people responsible for this."
"This as in what?" you say, not referencing to the fact that, yes, Allison Diggory, beloved and hated female president of South Korea, has indeed, become the person she's sworn to never become; that is now clear enough based off the evidence Taehyung's showed you. Instead, you mean why exactly she is this way in the first place.
