Most nights, you are able to sleep peacefully throughout the whole night and would often wake to feel well and strong.

Tonight would be different. Tonight, you will wake up in cold sweat and heavy breathing as if you were going into a panic attack. Rather than waking up remembering the dream piece by piece, you only wake up remembering how it made you feel, not remembering the nightmare was about at all. All you truly knew was, it didn't feel right and it didn't make you feel good. If anything, it made you scared to fall back asleep as it was almost four in the morning. Twisting your upper body, you see your girlfriend, Amy Lee, sleeping soundlessly next to you. As you watch her, you know how easily she can wake up and because of the way you were feeling, you debated whether or not to wake her. The thing that was pulling you back was the fact was she had a long day ahead at the studio to put the final touches on the new album; and you knew she needed all the rest she could get.

While your mind was telling you not to, your heart was telling you otherwise, assuring you that she would understand the way you were feeling and would provide you with her comfort.

Fate had made the choice for you as your body begins to tremble, causing Amy to wake up. Because you were so focused on what you should do, you slightly jumped when you felt the soft touch of her hand on your bare arm and back while asking if you were okay.

"Y/n? Are you okay?"

"Just a bad dream."

The mattress shifts under you as Amy sits up with her back resting against the headboard, pulling you into her warm and comforting embrace. You lay your head on her chest while she begins to run her fingers through your silky (h/c) hair and begins to hum the melody of "My Immortal" as a lullaby. Even if she just hums it, you can hear her words voice along in your head and it was beautiful to you. After a short time, she begins to let the lyrics escape through her lips as if she read your mind.

"These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real..."

Before you knew it, Amy's magic spell had worked successfully in putting you back to sleep, but with good dreams this time. The morning results were you waking up feeling well and strong, as if the nightmare never took place. It was your day off work, but Amy would be spending the day in the studio, leaving you to be on your own. Loneliness could sometimes be devastating to you, however; the way Amy wakes you up before going definitely makes up for it.

Your eyes flutter open and you're greeted by Amy's touch on your arm once again, for you to see her hovering above you. She leans in and plants a soft, loving kiss on your lips before parting ways with you.

"I love you, Y/n. I will see you soon."

"I love you more, Amy."
