After the game, a victory, of course, Derek and I ran off to our favorite place. I giggled as I pulled him into a kiss once we were inside. He backed me against a wall and lifted me up so my legs dangled loosely around his waist. He unzipped my jacket and threw it on the floor as he continued kissing me with passion.
Derek looked into my eyes for a moment or two.
"I love you."
I smiled, "I love you, too."
He kissed me again, deeply. He pulled me away from the wall to lay me on the floor. One hand caressed the small of my back while the other brushed my cheek. My arms hung around his neck. We kissed for another minute before pulling away.
He smiled at me as he pulled me up from the floor. All of a sudden his smile disappeared; his whole body tensed against mine.
"What is it?"
"Someone's coming. We gotta go. Now."
Hastily, he grabbed my jacket and my hand before rushing out of the back of the building. He picked me up and ran faster than I thought possible down the hill to the car. He was moving really fast for someone carrying an extra 127lbs.
Still in a hurry, Derek sat me in the seat and jumped into the driver's side. We sped away kicking gravel and dirt.
"Are you sure someone was coming? Or were you just trying to scare me? I didn't see anyone anywhere."
"No, I could smell them coming. A pack of them."
I was a little puzzled. "Smell them"? "Pack of them"? Was he okay? Cautiously, I slid my hand onto his thigh to try and soothe him. Within a few seconds, I could feel him relax under my touch.
Derek's phone rang, breaking the silence.
"Who's Peter?" I asked looking at the caller I.D.
"The guy you talked to earlier. He's my family. Hello?" He aswered. "Yeah...just fine...okay...really?... I can... okay just give me a few minutes....okay, bye."
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, I have to drop you off, okay? My family needs me."
"That's fine. Do you need me, though?"
"No, but thanks for the offer. It'll be just fine."
He held my hand that was still resting on his leg. Despite his attempt to change my mind, I could tell something was wrong.

Derek kissed me before speeding off. I walked into the house just to find it empty. I wasn't going to just sit here by myself and worry. I attempted calling Shelbie, but it just went to voicemail.
After a few, I came to the conclusion that I was just going to walk to the school so I could at least distract myself with practice. I grabbed my sheet music binder and began the trek.
Surprisingly, I was there in only twenty-five minutes. It might have had to do with that fact that I felt as if someone was following me, but when I looked, there was no one.
I entered through the main doors and strolled down stairs to the music room. Once there, I texted Derek to let him know I wasn't home if he wanted to see me when he was finished with his family. I also asked if he was okay. There was still this overwhelming feeling that somthing was going to happen. Something bad.

I had only been playing for a short while when I heard footsteps in the hall. Curious, I went to investigate.
