Melissa drove us to the nearest mall. She lent me a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt so I didn't have to go out in public looking homeless.

Deaton was right. The sun didn't set me ablaze, but I did feel a bit weaker. Tonight, I think I would try my first attempt at feeding by myself.

Out of the $30,000 in my new bank account set up by James, I spent almost $1,600 on clothes and shoes. Not too bad, considering I had nothing.

Before we left, I strolled into Bed Bath and Beyond. I really needed to personalize my room a little.

For my bed set, I chose a simple black and pale grey comforter and sheet set. Also, I bought two additional pillows and a body pillow. I always needed something to cuddle with. A crimson colored floor rug caught my eye and I figured it would be nice to have a pop of color with the neutral walls and floor. I bought some black curtains that were made of a material resembling mosquito netting. All-in-all, I spent another $500.

Prior to going home, we stopped at Wal-mart to get the essentials: toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and the such.

Isaac was waiting in my room when we returned.

"Shouldn't you be in school?" I asked

"Skipped half a day."

"Oh, I see. I come back and you think you can get away with everything."

"I'll help you with the rest," he offered with a chuckle.

"This it is," I replied, setting down at least 30 bags while Melissa sat down my bed set and rug.

"You carried everything in and up a flight of stairs?"

"It really wasn't heavy."

"Honey, I don't know how your arms didn't fall off," Melissa interjected.

She checked her beeping pager with a sigh.

"I'll catch you guys later. I've been called in. Bri, do you need any help?"

"No, I think I've got it. Thank you."

"Okay, I'll see you later, sweetie."

"Bye, Melissa."

When we heard her feet hit the landing at the bottom of the stairs, Isaac gave me a 'you're crazy' look.

"What?"

"You carried all of those?"

"Ugh, vampire. Remember? Super strength? Ring a bell?"

"Yeah, I remember. Need some help?"

"It doesn't matter."

The two of us spent the next two hours putting away clothes and making my bed. Isaac told me about his life while I was gone. It wasn't my favorite thing to hear. I felt as if I failed him as a sister. I left him when he needed me most.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, Isaac. I know I promised when Camden left I'd protect you and I didn't. It's my fault all that happened to you. If I wouldv'e been there-"

"Hey," he cut me off, "It's okay. You couldn't have done anything. It wasn't your fault, Bri."

He hugged me tightly.

"Thanks, Isaac. Love you."

"Love you, too, sis."

I pulled away to look him in the eye, " I want to tell you, you have $15,000 to spend."

"What?"

"Dad left $30,000 to me and I'm giving you half."

"Bri-"
