The day flies by

The day flies by. I'm sleep-deprived but focus on my studies, so my mind doesn't wander on other things. In potions, I don't even bother talking to Draco. It's just a couple of more days until we have to make a Sleeping Draught potion. I came in late; therefore, I'm sitting in the back of the room by myself. As I'm writing my notes, an origami swan lands on my desk. I look around, but no one seems out of order. I open it to find a message from someone I least expected.

Meet me at dusk at the lake.

Bring your textbook

-D.M.

I'm stunned for a moment. So now Draco is invested in our studies. Procrastinating until the last minute, of course, typical. This gives me anxiety, though I'll take what I can. I was expecting to do the whole potions work alone.

My sex positions textbook?

I quickly erase that comment. What is wrong with me? I need to get my head out of the gutter. I'm at a loss for words, so I just write a simple reply.

Okay.

I wasn't expecting to get anything back; however, I did.

No snarky comment? I'm disappointed.

He's really grown a pair, hasn't he?

I was just going to bring my potions textbook, though since you asked so charmingly, I guess I'll let you borrow my copy of "The Book of Sex Positions." Seems Slytherin boys need to do a little research.

I send the origami swan back and get it back within a minute.

There she is.

If you insist, bring that book. Maybe I can bookmark my favorite positions so you can tell your boy toy to try them next time. Since he needs pointers.

There she is... what does that even mean? I chuckle. It must have been louder than I thought because a few people turned to me. Draco doesn't turn, though, but from this position, I can see a smirk form on that perfect face of his. Thankfully the bell rings. I head toward the front of the class, making sure to not glance at anyone. Especially the platinum blonde boy.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" I ask Snape.

The last of the students leave.

"Is something wrong?" He questions me.

"The Sleeping Draught isn't working for me." I look down and start to play with a strand of hair that came loose from my braid.

"I'm shocked that dose doesn't work. I will up the dose. I have a vial on hand, actually." He heads toward his personal cabinet. It has a locking spell on it, so he murmurs the magic to unlock it.

"This is stronger. Try this on a night when you can sleep in longer. Just in case it knocks you out for a day." He hands it to my outstretched hand.

"Sure. Thanks." I turn to leave.
