Chapter 1
"Bwahaha! You can't stop me, weakling! You'll be dead once I place the sacred Paradox Cube on the podium, and I will control the mind of whoever I wish."
The evil cloaked figure raised the Cube in both of his hands "I can always control anybody's thoughts. I can make anybody do anything I please!"
If I could yell right now, I would tell him not to repeat that again.
The fiend toyed around woth the Cube in his hand before placing it onto the podium in front of him. Suddenly a weird force surrounded the Cube and the elements of the earth-- wind, fire, water, and earth-- encircled him.
"One thing that can be promised is that chaos will overpower the Earth and I will be invinsible! I will be above the Earth watching chaos reek everywhere. Then I will recreate this world to be mine by mind-control! But why should I spoil my ultimate plan to you? That's no fun, is it?"
As the cloaked villain let out another evil laugh, the lava from below erupted high above him, and fell like raindrops back down to the pits.
"All I have to do to control anyone's mind after I place it on this podium is hold the Paradox Cube, say a person's full name, say what I wish for them to think, or be, and voila! It's really simple."
The villain then had a sinister look on his face.
"I could make someone suicidal... if I don't like them, of course. And just because you've annoyed me to no end trying to defeat me -- not to mention that you have failed terribly -- I believe that should be your fate, foolish girl," he said.
"Not even the legendary Dreamer could stop me! It's hard to believe that you are the Dreamer from the prophecy of the Foreseer! A young girl? Preposterous! Well nevertheless, the Pambihirang Gods will be surely furious that you couldn't stop me. What a shame."
"I'm 17, as a matter of fact. Compared to you, I'm young," I groaned with anger.
I looked at him from the ground. My whole body ached, including my ankle which was probably broken, and I realized that I had failed. I also realized he was right; the Gods would probably kill me first before this guy does, like they said. Suddenly, my head started to spin due to running so much and falling a few times. I stayed on my stomach because I couldn't get off the ground. My energy had been drained. I-I'm blacking out...
"Ah!" I shrieked as I quickly sat up in my bed. I gasped for my breath.
That was the worst dream I've had so far. I seriosuly wish I never dreamed ever again. Ever since I hit my head on that cherry blossom tree in the park last week, I've been having the strangest dreams. It's always about this old guy in a cloak with an unruly beard and roaring voice having a cube of some kind. In the other dreams about it there's some other details like me fighting and my friends were in it as well. There is also a random guy who disappears from time to time, which is weird. It's too weird to even explain.
As I sat upright in my bed and rubbed my eyes to relieve my sleepiness, I sucked up the fact that I would be dreaming about evil conquerors for the rest of my life and got ready for school. I ran downstairs, took an energy bar since I usually have no time for breakfast, and went out the door the catch the bus. It was about a few minutes until I made it, just when the bus was about to leave.
