(Thursday April 30, 2022)

Beep, beep. I groan hitting the snooze on my alarm. It's 6:30!! I only got another two hours of sleep because of Andrew. After I came back from getting him a second glass of water he didn't fall back asleep till about 6. Flipping over onto my left side I watch him sleep. He looks peaceful, but also showing a hints of worry as he keeps bunching his brows together every couple seconds. Can't think about that now I gotta get ready for my last final.

I take a quick shower and change into a pair of light blue jeans, a simple grey tank top, teal jacket and grey converses. Since my hair is still wet I just pull it back into a lazy ponytail. I grab my book bag from my desk and my guitar case. Quietly I close the.. Shit I almost forgot my necklaces. I hurry to the bathroom and snatch them off the sink, slipping them on. Now I'm ready. Walking to the stairs I'm hit by the aroma of peppers, onions and sausage. My mouth waters. Tonys early I think as I glance down at my watch. 7:15. Wait.. fuck I'm late. I rush downstairs, banging the door to the kitchen I make my way outside, but not before grabbing a brown sack off the counter. "Thanks Tony."

*Couple hours later

I hand in my last final of the semester in. I can't help, but smile it's been along road and it's only just begun. My teacher gives me a huge grin and holds out his hand. We shake. "I hope to have you in one of my classes again Alex. However not too soon, " he jokingly says.

"Thank you Sir."

I walk out of the math building and take a seat under a tree. It's only noon and I don't want to go home just yet. Instead I pull out the guitar Sanchez gave me and start to play a few simple cords.

One, two, one, two, three

Oh, yeah, yeah,
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ooh!
Oh, yeah, yeah,
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ooh!

Never had much faith in love or miracles
Ooh!
Never wanna put my heart on the line

It's not one of my favorite songs by Bruno Mars I just love the way it sounds on my guitar. I finish playing the song and look down at the guitar. Admiring its beauty I still can't believe Sanchez gave it to me. A clap snaps me back to reality as I tilt my head up and guess who it is.

"Didn't know you could play," says the figure. He's wearing dark blue jeans, a grey and black flannel cuffed up to his fore mans with an Asking Alexandria shirt under along with a pair of black combat boots.

"You never asked. Nice to see you again Marcus. I didn't know you went here as well."

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me," he replies taking a seat next to me. "So you done for the day?" He folds his arms behind his head leaning back against the tree.

"Actually done for the semester. Just finished my last final. You?"

"I have my last one in an hour. History the worse." he says rolling his eyes.

I giggle,"History I enjoy more so than math." I place my guitar back in its case.

"Leaving so soon?" So he does care or at least seems to enjoy my company.

"No. As a matter of fact I wanted to ask you a favor." He gives me questioning glare before proceeding to respond. "I'm all ears." I explain about the performance and how if its too last minute that I understand.

"Oh I'll help you for a price," he says giving me a mischievous smirk. It doesn't take genius to know what the catch is. Two can play at this game since I need to get out more often. "We go as friends. Take it or leave it." He chuckles but agrees to my terms.

"So what artist are we covering for this lovely performance." he says sarcastically.

"Bruno Mars."He nods his head. "Nice I like his work."

"Good I wanted to mix it up a bit though." What Maria doesn't know won't hurt."How so?" he asks eyeing me puzzlingly.

"Well since I'm asking you for help. Why not preform some of your own songs. You know so you guys get more exposure as a group." I express grinning apprehensively hoping he catches on. "I don't know." He runs his hands through his hair, which now I'm paying attention is actually a bit wavy. Shit pay attention Alex. Wait don't stare at him. Look away, look away.

"What's with the stare?" Nice going. I try to play it off that I was thinking about something, but he scoots closer to me. Even though we're outside in a wide open space I couldn't feel more like I'm backed in a corner. Out of the corner of my eye I notice the corner of his mouth rise revealing a smile, "Do I make you nervous?" he taunts. I turn towards him mustering the straightest face I can. "No, but you do need to shave." He leans forwards brushing his chin against my jaw. I involuntarily shiver, "It's ok I won't tell." He pulls away leaning back against the tree.

Pretending like my face isn't on fire from the brief exchange I continue, "Let's give them two shows in one. Also I haven't sang in awhile so I don't know if I'll last the whole two hours ok." I admit. He busts out laughing. "I knew you couldn't hang." I punch him in the shoulder. "I can. I was just trying to be nice." i snap.

He rubs his shoulder. "Damn don't be a girl. I was just messing." A girl! Are you fucking kidding me. "Anyways I'm game, but we're going to need more people beside my band and I know just the guys to call." "Who?" He pulls out a white card and hands it to me. "just show up at 6:30 and you'll see." We sit under the tree and take turns playing songs on my guitar until Marcus leaves for his final.

I head back to draft shaft to kill time before meeting up with Marcus. I peer through the back door and see Tony's busy prepping for tonight. Now's my chance to sneak past him. Carefully I shimmy through the back door, tiptoeing past the counter I'm half a foot away from swinging door. " Where do you think you're going?" I'm about to respond, when my phone start going off in my pocket. It's my mom.
