{Song: Will They Won't They by Jeremy Shada}
~Edited~
They decided to allow me to stay in my old room instead of a cell, although they didn't know I knew it was my old room. The door was still missing, and the door leading out to the balcony was barred to stop me from going out there. Even though my mind felt like melting, sleep eluded me.
I had walked around the room for a while, re-familiarizing myself with the layout and slightly snooping through the drawers. Now I was curled up on my bed with a small round piece of metal digging into my palm, something I had found in my nightstand drawer.
I slowly unfurl my fingers and pick the coin up to twirl it around my fingers, "I'm sorry, papa. But this is the best way I could see to protect them." I whisper to the coin as if he was actually here.
"What's that in your hand?" A voice asks from the doorway and I twist my head to see Clint, his arms crossed and his eyes looking at me suspiciously.
"My dick." I respond as I slip the coin into my pocket before sitting up straight, "Is it time for my walk?" I ask as Clint's face scrunches up from my first response. He nods his head slowly as he steps back into the hall and waits for me to step out of the room.
Instead of leading me to the kitchen and living room area like I thought, Barton took me past those rooms and towards the other end of the facility. He stopped outside a closed door and knocked on it quickly before opening the door and ushering me inside.
The door was closed behind me, leaving me alone with the man sitting behind the desk. "How did you sleep?" Fury asks nonchalantly without looking up from the file he was studying.
"I didn't." I reply as I crumble onto one of the chairs across from his desk, my hand raising to massage my temple in an attempt to rid myself of the constant migraine that I have had ever since waking up in the cell.
"Are you alright?" Fury asks, his voice filled with what sounded like concern. I glance up and meet his eye, "You're asking me if I'm okay? Who are you and where is Nick Fury?" I mutter out, causing his eye to roll in exasperation.
"Contrary to popular belief, I do actually care about the well being of you and the team. And since you are an extremely valuable asset-" I cut him off with a sharp wave of my hand, "Don't call me that. I couldn't care less if SHIELD dies out. But with how I saw it, my family would die with them and that is the only reason I am doing this. The ONLY reason." I respond sternly.
Fury nods stoically before raising his brow, waiting for an answer to his initial question. I groan out as my head falls down into my hands once more, "Clearly you've never had to regrow part of your brain." I whisper out. I hear him huff and I roll my own eyes at what I had said.
"Normally you wouldn't be able to feel anything happening in your brain since there are no nerve endings there but since part of my hippocampus is regenerating, there is a constant pressure coupled with memories being released, sometimes at a nauseating rate." I end up mumbling an explanation before taking a large breath and sitting straight to make eye contact with Eyepatch.
"Right, I just thought you would like to switch out your dampener for a fake one." He rumbles out when he notices he has my attention. He slides a small box across the desk and when it pops open I see an identical cuff to the one that was currently latched onto my wrist.
"Won't Stark get an alert that this one was removed?" I ask cautiously as I pluck the fake cuff out of its case.
"Not for the next three minutes, I have a small virus implanted in his software that will stop any alerts from reaching him. So hurry up and give me your wrist." He orders and I follow it immediately, stretching my arm across his desk to allow him to scan some type of key on the band.
