{Song: See Her Again by J Boog}

The news about the emergence of all of SHIELD and HYDRA secrets was just starting to cool down. There was a little information about three surviving HYDRA test subjects but no names had been given, just patient numbers. Having no money made it hard to be on the run, I ended up having to break into a few houses in order to get some food, and take showers so that I could easily blend in with normal society.
I wasn't proud of it but I had gotten some money by taking a few pieces of jewelry from a few houses and selling them. Not enough to start a new life but it was enough to go eat at an actual restaurant every now and then, which is where I was now.
I had on a dark hoodie, jeans, and a baseball cap was pulled down enough to cover part of my face. I had my hair twisted into a loose bun and tucked into the cap. I was sitting in a coffee shop when she found me, having been mentally on high alert ever since escaping from HYDRA I could sense her from down the street. But she knew that. Her mind was calm, and she was mentally repeating a sentence as she made her way closer to my position. 'Don't run, I'm here to help.' she repeated over and over in her mind.
I didn't move an inch as she slid into the seat opposite me. I could see her grey hoodie was pulled up to cover her hair and looked up a bit more to see that she was wearing large sunglasses. "You didn't run." She states as she leans forward on the table and waves away the waitress that came over to see if she wanted anything.
"How did you find me?" I ask quietly, shuffling nervously as I hear the curious thoughts of some people around us and tapping on the half empty cup of coffee in my hands.
"You know who I am?"
"Natalia Alianovna Romanoff. Or Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, spy, assassin, a team member of the Avengers." I answer confidently. She twitches when I say her full name before nodding and sliding a puffy envelope over to me. I grab it hesitantly and slowly open it as she explains, "Inside is enough cash to get you a plane ticket to Japan if you want. Along with a new passport and a burner, it only has my direct number on it. If you ever need help you can ask."
I look up at her as I place the envelope inside my pocket, "Why are you helping me?" was the first thing that I could think to ask. Nat studied me for a moment before answering, "You helped me, and I was once on the wrong side too. Someone gave me a second chance, I think you should have one." She tapped the table with her hand lightly before pushing off and leaning back into the seat.
"We found Steve, he thinks that Bucky is still in there somewhere and is trying to locate him as we speak. Not having much luck in that department though." She mentions as if we were discussing the weather. I shake my head, "I don't know what you expect me to do, I can't- no I won't go back to HYDRA." I tell her.
She narrows her eyes slightly, "He's not with HYDRA, he's on the run too." She stands up from her seat and takes a few steps towards the door before pausing right next to me, "Just thought you should know." She finishes before leaving the cafe.
I end up using some of the money I had left over to get a motel room for the night. As I sat on the bed I went through the contents of the package more thoroughly. There was a passport with the name Jennifer Walker on it and a picture of me, how they got it I had no idea. A roll of five thousand dollars was inside accompanied by the burner phone that Nat had mentioned.
I take apart the phone enough to reassure myself there was no tracking chip inside of it before reassembling it and stuffing everything back into the jackets pocket and falling back against the bed, staring at the ceiling.
