3rd Person POV
"Valencia! Come down here this instant! The party will begin soon and you must greet your guests!
That would be Valencia's mother, so kindly requesting her presence. She ruffled her off lavender-colored dress smooth, as she reluctantly made her way down the dangerously slippery, marble stairs.
In Valencia's opinion, it is absolutely absurd to expect a young girl like her to be able to achieve anything in the mass of fabric and frills she was wearing, let alone dance. But alas her mother believes that she must look her very best for tonight's occasion. It's supposed to be her coming-out ball. A coming-out ball is where a girl is introduced to society as a "Young Lady" for the first time. Now in the Wizarding World, it takes place the year you first go to magic school.
Though Valencia just doesn't understand the point of throwing a huge ball to showcase yourself to a bunch of people whom you already know. Her mother though, insists that it is one of the "Most momentous occasions of her worthless life". and since Valencia would rather avoid getting slapped, or beaten, on her birthday, a coming-out ball it is!
So here she is at the bottom of this ridiculously extravagant and slippery stairwell about to greet her unwelcome guests.
"Valencia! the Rosiers and the Malfoys are here, come greet them!" her mother practically sang.
"Oh and Valencia, listen to whatever Mr. Evan Rosier asks. I NEED you to do whatever you can to impress him. If you don't I'm sure you can imagine what will happen."
"Of course mother," she says reluctantly.
As Valencia opens the door she sees two specific things that strike her eye.
The first thing is a small timid looking boy who appears to be around the age of her own little brother Kier.
The second thing she noticed was he was clinging to his mother trying desperately to get away from his older brother who as it seemed, was devastatingly handsome, but looked like the toxic and demanding type. Never judge a book by its cover though right? But it wasn't just how he looked, She had a sneaking suspicion that these were the Rosiers, and if they were she had heard horrible things about this boy. She walked up to the mother the smaller boy was so desperately hiding behind. Time to make ballsy move and see if she was right."Welcome, Mrs. Rosier. I'm pleased you and your children could make it tonight."
"Nonsense, the pleasure is all ours. My son Evan was ecstatic to meet you after hearing so much about you." Mrs. Rosier stated as she tugged her older son whom Val was just pondering over earlier, right in front of Valencia, quite forcefully might I add.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet your acquaintance, Miss Fawley." Said the (now known as Evan) young man.
"The pleasure is mutual, I've heard so much about you Mr. Rosier." She replied curtly.
"All good things I hope," he said smirking.
"Now that completely depends on how you perceive a good thing, Mr. Rosier." She said raising her eyebrow accusingly.
"Now if I didn't know any better I'd say you're trying to take a jab at me love. But I know that you wouldn't be that naive now, would you? After all, what could you have possibly heard about me that's so bad?"
"Oh, I'm quite sure you know exactly what I've heard Evan. And don't call me that again."
"I'll call you whatever the hell I want love." He said as his smirk grew.
