Valencia's POV

BANG. BANG. BANG.

I awoke the closest to a heart attack I've ever been. How the HELL did he get here?! No, no, no. I need to get out of here right now. If I'm deadly silent maybe he won't hear me.

"Bloody hell Ci! Get up! ugggghhhhhhhhh."

"Lila?" of course it's Lila, how would he even get here in the Slytherin girls dormitories of all places. That was an absolutely ridiculous reaction.

"Ci?! You're awake! Bloody FINALLY. The doors jammed again, and I've been out here since Bloody three am!"

"Shit. I'm so sorry. Hold on I'm coming." I untangled the sheets from my legs, slipped a shirt on over my bra, and hurried over to the door.

"Agh, finally. Thank you! now if you don't mind go down and have breakfast so I can get a peaceful nap before our first class." she said as she flung herself with much enthusiasm onto her bed.

"Fine. But I'm not bringing you anything back!" I yelled as I began to walk out the door, but she didn't hear me of course cause she's already asleep.

I was in a surprisingly okay mood as I walked downstairs to the common room. It had been a couple of days since the incident with Black and Potter. I've been having to wear my Slytherin scarf or turtle necks since my large bruises from Potter still haven't faded at all, which is slightly annoying. My side wound although it was still really painful, was healing, and wasn't bleeding anymore which is convenient. And Lila and I are gonna have a girl's night tonight, which I can't wait for.

As I got to the bottom of the stairs I heard someone say my name. I froze up, It's like every single part of me forgot how to work. I was almost too scared to look up, but I did. And there, gracefully strewn on the green velvet couch in all his glory, was Rosier, book in hand, looking thoroughly hungover.

But then I realized it wasn't Evan. It was Ryker, his little brother. The scared one that hid behind his mother at my coming out ball. In my opinion, the kid was right to hide. His brother is the scariest human ever, other than my parents. My body instantly relaxed, relieved that it hadn't been Evan. I know Ryker hangs out with Kier, he does lots in the summer. I just don't see him much, cause I'm usually either at a mandatory ball or tea. If I'm not there, I'm cleaning our house, being beaten for doing something wrong, or locked in my room healing myself, and doing mandatory studying.

I guess in a way he knew me better than almost anyone else which was weird, cause we've never really had a real or in-depth conversation. But he was always there in some other room of my house with Kier, overhearing my beatings, my screams, my lack of screams. Seeing the meals I was rejected constantly, He saw the facade at the parties and saw it fall once I returned home.

We had a silent understanding of sorts that I understood his fear, and he understood mine. That he knew my pain and I could trust him to keep it a secret.

"I apologize! I didn't mean to scare you Valencia. I just completely lacked any form of sense, I didn't even think you might think I was him, I look like- sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck clearly ashamed and guilty-looking.

"No, Ryker. It's fine, it's not even your fault. You do look a lot like him though." I said as I laughed and walked toward the couch.

He rotated so I could sit down beside him and put his book down.

"Were you going down to breakfast?" he inquired obviously knowing the real answer.

"No, I was just gonna walk around and say I went to breakfast." I laughed humorlessly.
