Sometime in 2014, 12 year old me discovered Precure and became instantly obsessed. And typically, when I obsess with something, I have to make an oc for it. That's just how it is XD I think I've been making ocs since I was a fan of MLP (so since I was about 8 or 9 years old) and naturally, I really wanted to make a Precure oc. I don't know how exactly I got the idea for Sweet Nature as a series but I never intended for a couple of ocs to end up getting this huge story that has evolved over the past 7 years since I created it.

For the longest time, Lightning has been like my go-to name for ocs based off of myself. My ponysona was named Lightning Clouds and my Curesona was Cure Lightning. Yep, Cure Lightning was my Curesona at one point in time. Sora was always meant to be the person I wanted to be at age 12: athletic and confident but secretly really powerful and amazing. Did I achieve being like her? Not exactly but the early versions of Sora were a lot like me and my ideal self. Originally, Sora/Lightning was going to be a standalone oc character but for whatever reason, I changed my mind very quickly and created her partner Emiri/Cure Ginger. And then after that, I came up with the title Sweet Nature Precure!

I have no clue where the title came from but I just thought a nature themed Precure series sounded really cool so I started developing a story in my mind for the two of them, borrowing quite a few elements from Futari Wa (which was my first Precure series, and one that I hold very dear to my heart x3) including outfit designs and some character dynamics as well as the mascots are the transformation device concept.

Another thing that is quite embarrassing about the early versions of Sweet Nature is that I hardly knew much about Japanese so naming things was not a strength of mine. In fact I'm pretty sure the surnames I gave to Sora and Emiri at the time weren't really Japanese but they sounded Japanese so I went with them which is so stupid and I can't believe I thought making up words that sounded like a different language was a good idea. I'm so glad I didn't write the early version of Sweet Nature now that I think about it XD I'm pretty sure Shizen Town was also named something really weird like "Yumeni" which doesn't even fit the series at all, idk what I was thinking. Just be glad you never knew me at 12 years old, I was so freakin weird lmao.

Uhhh that's all I have for now, the next part will talk about the early versions of Sora and Emiri as well as the original plot of the series!
