Savannah Harper - December 22, 2013
"Oh my God, Anna! Will you look at this?" My pink haired friend exclaimed while she flapped her mom's shopping list over the fruit section. She was using Josh's nickname for me. And she does that when she's panicking. "All it says on this is oranges. Oranges! What's that supposed to mean? There are, like, dozens of kinds of oranges."
Choice does have its downside. You could see why it took Taylor hours to get dressed every morning.
"Temple, navy, blood, valencia, satsuma, mandarin.." She fluttered the shopping list into the air "It's like the UN of citrus fruit! And they all have the same name, Sav. They're called oranges. Exactly what kind am I supposed to get?"
I leaned againsts the cart while I laughed at her.
"Well, what kind do you usually get?" I asked her.
"Oh, I don't know, Savannah." She sighed.
"All I know is that they're in the colour of orange."
I laughed and shook my head at her.
Then she muttered something about just letting her mom do the orange shopping next time.
"Hey Taylor." I poked her sides.
"Yeah?" She said as she furrowed her eyebrows, now trying to find her way to the Christmas themed chocolate chips. Which is the next thing on her - as she called it - "Christmas Baking Extra-Vaganza" list.
"Josh was acting weird yesterday." I told her as I helped her took a bag of chocolate chips.
"What happened?" She raised her eyebrows in alarm.
"He ditched us to go to a girl's house. Her name is Hailey." I pushed the cart to the cashier, seeing that we're done shopping.
"And he sounded mad."
"Oh. Maybe he had a fight with one of the boys or something." She shrugged.
"You just don't get it, do you?" She added, muttering quitely. But I could hear it.
"What?" I was confused.
"Nothing." She said, almost too fast. "Soooo.. How are you and Peter?"
I know she's hiding something from me but I let it go.
"Great." I answered instead. I smiled. "He's being really caring. He treats me good."
After she payed, we got in the car and drove to my house. Mom was coming home tonight from the business trip. And Taylor's family, the Sanders, were all going to stay at our place until Christmas ends, seeing they're all really close to my family. They said they want to keep us company after... What happened last December.
"I CAME IN HERE TO WREEEEEECK YOUR BAAAAAALLSS!" Taylor sang off-key as Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" came in the radio.
"Taylor Imogen Sanders!" I hit her arm, trying to hold back my laugh. But I failed. Miserably.
I ended laughing so hard I think my insides are going to blow up.
As we reached my house, we were greeted by my brother, Ethan.
Taylor started panicking as soon as she saw him going down the doorsteps. She shook my shoulders so hard.
"Do I look okay? Does my hair look like a bird just made a nest in it? Do I have something on my teeth? Do I have boogers on my nose? Do I have eyecrusts? Is my makeup smudged? Is there something in my face?" She asked frantically, as Ethan started getting closer and closer to the car.
"You look perfect, Tay. Don't worry." I assured her.
"Okay." She took a deep breath to calm herself down. Then she went outside the car along with me.
"Hey sissy, do you by any chance ha-" He stopped mid sentence when he saw Taylor.
"Oh. Hi Taylor." He grinned at her."Hi." Taylor replied quitely and smiled back.
Why can't she be this quiet when Ethan is not around?
Then she start getting the plastic bags out of the car.
"Here, let me help." Ethan said.
Taylor covered her face with her hair. I know she was blushing.
He walked over to where she was.
"You know what? Just leave it all here and I'll bring it in." He smiled.
"Thanks." She blushed as pink as her hair.
We both went in the house.
"You are so lovestruck." I smirked at her as soon as Ethan was out off earshot.
She opened her mouth to protest but I cut her off by telling to not even try to argue with me because we both know that it was true.
She obeyed.

I heard the car honk. That must be my mom and Taylor's parents. They picked up my mom from the airport on their way here.
"Mom!" I ran down the stairs to my mom and gave her a hug.
"Hi sweetie." She hugged me back.
"Hi Jim. Hi Kimberly." I greeted Taylor's parents. I don't call them "Mr. and Mrs. Sanders" anymore. Since last year, after what happened, we became really close.
"Hello darling." Kimberly smiled at me. "Let's all start decorating the house, now that we're all here. It's only a day and a half left till Christmas Eve!"
"Mom, go wash up and unpack first." Ethan said with a smile.
Then he turned to Tay's parents.
"You too guys. You can take the guest room. Make yourselves feel at home first. While you do that, we kids are gonna take out all the ornaments from the attic. And then we can all start decorating." He said politely, grinned at them, and gave a thumbs up.
I heard Kim whispered to Mom and Jim about how she thinks that Ethan is such a gentleman and a sweetheart.
Taylor swatted her mom's arm in embarassment.
I just laughed and went to the attic with Ethan, Taylor following along.
I made my way to the dusty corner of the attic, where all the Christmas ornaments are.
I picked up one of the boxes. That's when something fell down.
I glanced at it and sucked in a breath.
I don't want to see that. A tear escaped my eye as I picked it up.
I looked at it and it was a picture of my family. When it was still complete. When my father was still alive.
It was taken in 2012. It was our last Christmas together. We should be celebrating Christmas together last year and this year and many more years to come but because of that stupid car crash, it's not possible anymore.
I felt Ethan's arm wrap around me from behind.
We just stood there looking at the picture in silence, reminiscing memories.
Then he said, "I miss him."
I nodded.
"I miss him too."
I'm sad :(
So basically this chapter tells about Savannah's dad and describes Taylor's character more.
I love Tay. Don't you? She's so cute and bubbly. And I SO ship her with Ethan.
Vote and comment guys!
Thank you :D
