~20 hours earlier
Aurora - yelling across the large rustic wooden home screaming out to her brother " Do you know where my boots are?"
Sorin - "They're your boots why would I know?" he called back.
~Aurora and Sorin's mother had just arrived home from work. Their mother was always working late nights as a hospital nurse so the siblings had to learn to take care of themselves.
Mother - "Sorry kids I'm home but I have to go back out I left some food on the counter for you".
Aurora - *Runs to her mother and hugs her " Thanks mum".
Mother - " Okay bye kids I'm off, have fun on your trip".
Aurora - "We will!" With a giant grin on her face.
~ Across the street Ameer already has his bag packed and is sitting down enjoying a meal with his parents discussing his results for his latest test. Ameer had always been the wisest and the smartest of the group with his parents always pressuring him to get better grades.
~Back across the street a girl with a large backpack is climbing through a bedroom window, more specifically Aurora's window.
Fae - "hey," she says in a soft monotone voice.
Aurora - *This startles Aurora causing her to jump "Ohh don't do that".
Fae - "hehe sorry," she says while rubbing the back of her head playing with her brown and blonde streaked hair.
Aurora - "What are you even doing here?"
Fae - "Well I just thought that I would stay here until the hike. It's better than staying at home."
~ Fae had always grown up in a rough household she had never been as lucky as the others in her friend group. Her mother had left when she was only three years old causing her father to become a miserable drunk who lost his job and didn't leave the house.
