It was late January, Draco had come home after the second task. He was out for a stroll in Diagon Alley, he had to pick up a few robes and get fitted for an upcoming new year event.

After he left Madame Malkin's he goes home and gets ready for the New Year ball that was being hosted by one of his father's friend. Draco dresses himself in an all black suit with white button down.

Draco was being polite when he said that he was not really a party person, because it was a very dull one for him. He was not enjoying the party and wanted to get out of the place. He goes out for a stroll in the garden when he bumps into a girl. She was elder to him, she even stood a few inches taller than him.

The party turned out to be not so boring for Draco by the end, he enjoyed his time. His privacy with the elder girl. The height difference did not stop the duo from being intimate.

Draco was very proud of himself when he had gotten a prefect badge in his letter from Hogwarts for his fifth year. He could not wait to boast about it and use his powers to give out detentions to whomever he wished. He was on cloud nine. He could not wait to pretend rule the school now. Or at least the dungeons.

The headmaster of Hogwarts was presented with the idea of teaching his students or introducing them at least to the idea of parenting. He gave the rule quite a few thoughts before coming to the realisation that he could very well use it for the greater good.

After the start of the term feast, the students from 5th and 6th year were held back, while the rest were sent to their dormitories.

Draco was confused, he didn't know why they were being held back. His father had not informed him of any news or update that concerned Draco's school, which is not something that he usually does. Lucius always informs Draco, if something regarding his son's school is being talked about.

The headmaster rises and approaches the podium, he clears his throat before he begins, "Welcome back everyone, last year was not a very fortunate one for us. The hope is diminishing, the days are getting darker. The light is leaving us slowly, many of us are surrounded by darkness at this moment, so this may come as a shock and you might think that the old headmaster has, alas lost his mind. But let me inform you, this is being done to bring back light in your life, this is the greatest opportunity for one to see in the light and choose their path. Because remember, the greatest weapon of all right now is you, my dear children. The school has decided to partake in the new course that the ministry has launched, the 5th and 6th years will be given a child of few weeks each. How you take care of the child will greatly impact your studies." All the students looked at each other silently sending messages to each other about how none of them had expected this and how crazy this sounded, "Now, before we give you the child, you all will be taught a few theory and a few practical lessons on how you take care of a baby. Your professors will guide you at each step and help you. You may now leave, rest well."

Draco and his friends place themselves on the large leather couch in the common room, the whole common room was buzzing with the talk of the new course.

"My father will hear about this! This is crazy" 

"I never even wanted a kid of my own, and now I have to look after some kid who's I don't even know made of what" Blake complains, after Draco. "They are the light, as if, they are smelly for all I know" Crabbe says.

"This is quite funny though, I hope it does not turn out to be too bad", everyone looked at Daphne as if she had grown three heads. "Oh please! Don't give me the looks, have you never thought of having a family?"

"Well I didn't exactly picture myself having a family this soon" Theodore says from beside her.

"I'm off to bed" Draco sighs and gets up. He makes his way to his dorm and gets changed. As soon as his head hits the pillow, he was out. All the thoughts of having to look after a baby were thrown out of the window.

He was not aware about how much his life was going to change, he was not aware of the coming storm that he would have to battle through and he certainly was not aware that he could actually get attached to a little one so much that he would be ready to run away from his home. If the need was to arise.
