Hope POV
I searched street after street. I rolled the car window down and yelled, "Grace! Nicklaus! Come back! I'm sorry!" A young teenager girl looked at me strange. "What?!" I rolled my eyes and drove faster away from her. I parked in a vacant lot and cried. What have I done? I'm a bad mother. I'm a bad person. And bad people do bad things. No, I'm not turn in my emotions off. If I did, my kids would be more mad at me and I wouldn't have any feelings for Matt or Grace or Matt. I sighed, crying less and less.
All of a sudden, I heard a knock on the car window. I rolled it down and looked down out of the window to see a little girl holding a bear with clothes and necklaces on it. I stop crying and wipe the tears off. "Hello." I fake smiled. "Are you okay?" She asked. "I'm fine. What's your name? And what's her name" I asked, pointing to her bear. "I'm Hannah and this is Lola. What's your name?" She introduced her and her bear. "I'm Hope. Its nice to meet you, Hannah and Lola."
I smiled and an adult, I'm guessing her mom or aunt. Probably mom. "Hannah, don't run away from me and talk to strangers." Hannah m said and looked up me. "I'm sorry." "Its fine. Hannah didn't bother me. Why are you outside in a weather like this? Its windy and pretty cold." "Were just walking to the store." Hannah's mom answered.
"Let me take you to the store. I'm not kidnapping you. I'll keep my windows cracked and I'll give you my information so if I kidnap you, you can call the police and tell them." I explained. "Its okay. We can walk." She turned around and Hannah stood there. "Come on, Hannah." Hannah didn't budge. "I wan to go with Hope." She smiled at me. "Hannah, come on!" Her mom walked back over to her and tried holding her hand.
Hannah moved by the back door and opened it and climbed in. She buckled herself in. "Mommy, I want to go with Hope." Her mom sighed. "You sure?" She asked. "Yeah. Its fine." She shrugged and got in the passenger seat. She buckled herself. "Ready?" I asked. They nodded. "I m, what store are we going to?" "Kroger and then a liquor store. Kroger is just around the corner. We take a left-" I interrupted her, "not to be rude but, I know were I'm going." I slightly smiled.
Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at Kroger. We parked really close. We climbed out and locked the car. Hannah grabbed my hand and smiled as we crossed the road. I just thought of Crossy Road. Ha ha.
We walked inside, pass the carts and saw a table and sign, 'Girl Scout Cookies'. Mmm. I walked over there with Hannah pulling me over here. "Would you like some girl scout cookies?" A 10 year old, I'm guessing, asked. "Sure. I would like two boxes of Thin Mints, two boxes of tagalongs and she would like..." I stopped waiting for Hannah to respond. "Brownies." I smiled."two boxes of thin mints, two boxes of tagalongs, and two boxes of little brownies. Make the little brownies, three boxes."
The 10 year old girl and smiled, "so, three boxes of little brownies, two boxes of tagalongs and thin mints." I nodded. "That will be seven times four dollars which would equal out to twenty eight dollars." I handed her a twenty and a ten dollar bill. "Keep the change." I said and she handed me the boxes of cookies. Hannah's mom trued handing me money but, I refused. "No. Its okay. I have more money. Don't worry." I pulled my wallet out and showed her my hundreds, fifties, twenty's and ones. No tens or fives. I have change but, didn't show her.
I handed Hannah a box of Little brownies and handed her mom two boxes. Hannah's mom put the two boxes in her purse and Hannah opened her box and started sharing with her mom. "Now, let's get whatever you need." I said and started walking away with them following behind. We went down aisle after aisle to get everything they needed and everything I wanted.
We got to the cash register. "Will that be it?" I nodded, "yes." "That will be two hundred dollars and sixty nine cents." I handed him two hundred and two dollars. "Keep the change." Y hen I saw a box with a hole on top with money inside. A charity donation box. I slipped a fifty dollar bill in there. The cashier gave me wide eyes. "Wow. Thanks for helping charity." "No problem."
I smiled and we walked out with two carts full of food and a few books and personal stuff. Body wash. Shampoo and Conditioner. Nail polish. Tampons. Shaving creme. Razors. Yeah, we got lots of stuff.
We drove to the liquor store. I bought a bottle of tequila, and two bottles of bourbon. Plus, like twenty shot glasses. Mine and her stuff was only like fifty or sixty dollars. She got bud light and Corona beer. Disgusting. Not the bud light. Bud light is alright. Not good. Its alright. We left the store and all buckled in. "Where do you live?" I asked. She looked in her purse to look for something and had a worried face.
"What's wrong?" "I forgot my keys at my friends house and she's in Tennessee." "Its okay. I'll just get you guys another house. How long is she going to be gone?" "She's moving up there and won't. one back until a year or two." I shrugged. "I'll just buy a house for you. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, big yard, house. Big kitchen and living room..." "I can't let you do that for me.." Hannah's mom denied my offer. "That's not a option." I smirked.
We found a five bedroom house with a big front and back yard, three bathrooms, a basement, a playroom, laundry room, big kitchen and living room, huge dining room with a table for eight or ten. Yeah. I compelled the guy to give it to me for free. And the good thing is that its in Mystic Falls. Its close to the hospital. Good thing its not close to those Salvatores boarding house. Phew.
We put there stuff away and I gave her two, one hundred dollar bills. "Those are for clothes and other little stuff. Oh, and I'm giving you a lot of personal stuff like body wash and shampoo and conditioner. And I'm coming back here tomorrow around one or so to go shopping. See you tomorrow." I hugged Hannah bye and her mother too.
I drove back to the hospital cause its getting late. "I'm back!" I announced as I walked into the room. No ones in here. Not even Liz. I went up to the desk. "Where is sheriff Forbes?" "She was signed out about five hours ago." I looked at my phone and its 9:30 P.M. "Thanks." I rushed back to the Jeep and went to Caroline's. I banged on the door. "Caroline open this door!" The door opened and I saw Damon standing there. "Move." I pushed past him.
"Caroline!" I yelled and she vamp sped in front of me. "Hope!" She hugged me. I hugged her back. "Did Grace or Nick come back?" I panicked. "Ask them yourself." Caroline motioned me to the kitchen. There they stood. Grace and Nick. Drinking blood bags. I frowned, "really? Blood bags?"
"Were hungry. Caroline, your the one who told us to drink them." Nick said and looked at me before he kept talking. "Mom? What are you doing here?" Grace heard him and ran up to me with open arms. I picked her up and squeezed the life out of her. "Hurting.." Grace complained. I let go and set her down. I guess Nick's still mad at me just like my dad. Hold grudges for long.
"Nick, I'm sorry that I upset you but, I lost my magic for a good reason. I have a little magic but, not a lot. It was my decision. Not yours or anyone else's. I lost my magic to help Sheriff Liz Forbes! Okay? I lsot my powers." I announced the last few sentences pretty loud and I just realized that. I bit my lip, nervously. "You said you lost a lot but, not all!" Damon rushed in here. "Oops." I shrug. Damon never yelled at me like this. Only if he was joking and then he would smirk right after.
"Don't worry, be happy!" I grew a small fake smile on my face. He worries too much. "This isn't something you laugh about. This is serious, Hope. Face reality. You lost your powers you have a husband. Plus two children; Grace and Nick. Stop loving in a happy, peaceful fantasy." Damon yelled. Grace covered her ears. "Stop!" She demanded and walked out with Nick following her to comfort her.
"See what you've done? You turned my own kids against me. You don't understand how bad that hurts. Maybe your used to people shutting you out but, I'm not. I've been treated unfairly and I am so done with being tossed around. I'm tired of being somebody's puppet. I'm done with emotions." I said that and everything 'changed'. Damon stood there in shock. "Goodnight." I smirked and went to Caroline's room and slept on her bed.
