Bakugan: Battle Planet AU: Shun Kazami's Amazing Journey

Did This Happen Before?

The Awesome Brawlers (except Lightning) and Magnus are in The Maze, trying to unlock secrets about how newly-discovered Baku-Gear work. A Bakugan battle ensues within The Maze as an unidentified new antagonist and/or opponent (who is a Bakugan) is revealed and a battle soon ensues. During the brawl, Shun is struck hard by a tail sweep and is launched backwards into a wall, causing several injuries, but whether the Bakugan found in the Maze cared or not is unknown. Almost all that is remembered is worried cries.

"Shun!", everyone exclaims. "Shun! Are you okay? Say something.", Lia asks in panic. Shun tries to reassure his friends about himself, but is in too much pain. "I... -Gah!", he shouts in pain. "Guys! New plan: Lia, you and Hydrous make sure Shun gets out of here.", Dan instructs. Everyone (except Shun, who is now half-conscious) nods in agreement. "Right!", Lia agrees. "I'll go, too.", Magnus replies. "Me and Wynton will stay here and keep battling this guy. Okay?", Dan responds. Magnus nods. "Got it.", all (except for Magnus and Shun), agree. Lia mounts Hydrous.

"C'mon, Hydrous. Ya!", she orders.

Lia gently takes Shun's Mobile Gate from his pocket and opens a portal back to the surface. She rides Hydrous back to the surface world while Magnus signals to his Bakugan to keep brawling without him, with a nod, and rides into the portal with Lia as Hydrous carries them and Shun.

Later

Lia and Magnus are in a hospital recovery room with Shun. Shun quickly wakes up and turns his head, which causes his eyes meet with Magnus', who he sees is standing close by, watching him. "Huh? ...Magnus? ...Where are the others?", Shun asks. "Oh, thank goodness you're alright!", Lia exclaims in relief. "Lia!", Shun happily calls her name, also relieved. He turns to Lia, smiling, but he soon frowns again, though, concerned. "Wait, where are we? Is everyone else okay?, Shun inquires. "You're... in a hospital, but don't worry. Your friends are okay.", Magnus responds. Shun smiles again, believing his friends are safe. "Speaking of the others, I should go back and check on them. Do you mind if I borrow your Mobile Gate again, Shun?", Lia adds. "I don't mind! Bye, Lia! ...Be careful.", Shun lovingly responds. Lia walks through a Mobile Gate portal back to The Maze, where she starts commanding Pegatrix in battle again.

"You know, Shun...", Magnus starts.

"Yeah?"

Magnus smiles.

"I find it very admirable that the first thing on your mind was ensuring that everyone else was left unharmed."

"Really?"

"Mhm.", Magnus nods.

"...Thanks so much."

Shun suddenly coughs a little, since a part of his injuries was in his chest. A frown slowly creeps down Magnus' face and he darts his eyes to the side in concern. Seeing Shun in a hospital bed worries him, but it also reminds him of when his sister Emily was ill and of the sorrow he felt back then.

"...What's wrong, Magnus?"

Magnus, taken aback, blushes slightly and gapes his mouth open, dumbfounded. Annoyed by the question, due to sensitive memories, his tone suddenly begins to fill with bitter anger. "It's... none of your business! Why is it any of your concern?", he chides.

"—because we're friends... and friends care about each other, right?", Shun smiles.

Magnus, pleasantly surprised, smiles back.
