To abridge the Bakugan: Battle Planet anime series' events, before this book, the main characters, Dan Kouzo, Lia Venegas and Wynton Styles formed a group called the Awesome Ones, later renamed Awesome Brawlers, and Shun Kazami and Lightning soon joined. They went on world-saving missions and discovered a dimension called the Maze. Within are countless dub-dimensions where it seems almost anything can happen. It is believed the Maze due to the fictional planet of Vestroya merging with Earth, during a event known as The Great Collision, but it still holds many mysteries, especially since alternate versions of the Brawlers were found within. Flashing forward to the present-day of the series, this story takes place before the events of Bakugan: Geogan Rising and in an alternate timeline of Bakugan: Armored Alliance.
