In which Ryujin might have just been too late

-

She watched as he got up and entered Yizhuo's car, leaving her all alone on the park bench.

The pretty girl turned, saying something to Donghyuck, before flashing a smile toward Ryujin and waving bye.

She watched frozen in her place.

Snapping out of it, she raised her hand, but before she could even wave back, they were gone.

What a fake bitch.

Or maybe she was just being nice and Ryujin thought it was fake. She couldn't tell.

Her mind was clouded with emotions of all sorts.

If her crush on Donghyuck was as obvious as everyone at school says, why would anyone ruin it for her?

Especially the one girl no guy has ever turned down. Because why would they?

Yizhuo may have just been the most perfect person Ryujin had ever met.

She had ethereal features, to complete her magnificent face, yet attained the slim and small body that all guys wanted. And as if it couldn't get any better she was a phenomenal singer.

She probably met Donghyuck in glee club and asked him out.

The problem was that Ryujin expected him to turn her down. For some reason.

Stupid Ryujin.

It seems like things didn't go her way.

When she went out to get the mail after school, she'd seen her next door neighbor outside getting his.

She'd always admired him from afar. And by afar, she means from her bedroom window. Located right across from his.

Sometimes she'd pull up a chair behind her curtain when she couldn't sleep, to hear the faint strums of his guitar.

Not that Ryujin was shy at all, but she wanted him to think kindly of her. Like the shy cute girl she'd always fantasized about being.

She felt like a creep sometimes but she'd do anything to be around her crush without being around her crush.

But when she walked back inside, she heard the noise of her parent's dinner party.

So she grabbed her coat off the hook and decided to lap the block until Donghyuck went back inside.

Until he unfortunately noticed her, and went to follow her.

-

"Wanna go to the park?" She nodded timidly.

When they got there, the cool wind calmed down, and allowed them to enjoy the evening sky.

They sat on a bench and Donghyuck asked her about her day.

"Fine, I guess." She mumbled.

He went on to talk about his own day, and even mentioned a girl asking him out.

He didn't share any details, though, like his reply or even the identity of his suitor.

She shrugged it off, wanting to stop herself from thinking too much of it.

But when Yizhuo's black Mercedes Benz pulled up near the sidewalk of the bench they were occupying, she connected the dots.

He left her with one last wave and 'gotta go, nice talking to you though.'
