"Do we wake her up?" the sound of a boy caused Valerie to wake up from her nap. She faced two identical boys, both with flaming red hair and bright freckles.
"Am I still dreaming, or are there two of you?" Valerie caught their attention, earning grins.
"Yes, you are dreaming. Now in five seconds you will wake up and pick your nose-" one started as the other hit him in the arm.
"Oi, knock it off Freddie. Sorry about him. I'm George Weasley, and this is my brother, Fred." the one who called himself George smiled kindly.
"Twin brother." Fred added, throwing his arm around his twin.
"Get off me you git." George pushed Fred annoyingly as Fred almost hit the cage protecting Valerie's owl. The owl fluttered in annoyance of the Weasley, seeming like he was almost staring the red head down.
"Now, who's this?" Fred bent down to see the not so happy owl.
"That would be...Thibauld." Valerie smiled at the thought of her mother. Reaching in, he went to pet his feathers before getting nipped in the finger. Fred jumped back, shaking his hand in the air profusely.
"Good owl." George grinned, petting the owl who graciously gave in to the other brother's tactics.
"Guess he likes you, George." Valerie smiled at the sweet interaction, George looking up at her with a soft look at the fact she knew which twin he was, and Fred just groaned.
"Alright, alright. Pack it up you lovebirds. Get it, Georgie? Cause that's literally a bird." Fred raised his arms proudly.
"Oh, shove off. Let's get going, or this bloody train is going to leave with us on it." George held the cage, opening the compartment. George's eyes widened, as he quickly took Fred to the side and whispered words inaudibly into his ear.
"You calling me a twat? You know this was a two way street, right?" Fred shook his head, turning his head to the girl. "He's embarrassed because we haven't asked for your name. Think it's bad manners." Fred held his hands in quotations, making me chuckle.
"Valerie. You can call me Val." George held his hand out for her to shake, but Valerie hesitantly shook it, pulling away quickly. This causing them to share a look as Fred slowly pulled his own hand away as to not intimidate her.
"Oi, don't want the bloody one, now do ya?" Fred tried to lighten the mood, as he took back his still bleeding hand due to Thibauld.
"Sorry about that, he usually doesn't bite." Valerie reached into her pocket to get a hanker chief, passing it to the grateful ginger.
"Maybe he's never met an arrogant git before." George smiled thinly at his brother.
"HEY! What are you kids still doing here?" the conductor of the train startled the group, as the twins went to pull Valerie who quickly avoided their grips and followed along out to the exit. They jumped out, still smiling devilishly while stepping onto the grass. The three of them let out laughs, before they started for the carriages.
"I think you may have gotten the wrong tie, Val." Fred looked to the girl who wore the regular Hogwarts tie around her neck.
"Not exactly. This is my first year here...I haven't been sorted." Valerie nervously scratched the back of her neck.
"You look a little too old to be a first year." Fred showed the space between his thumb and pointer finger.
"No, no. I mean this is my first year at Hogwarts. I'm transferring from Beauxbatons. I'm uh, going into my fourth year." Valerie explained, hoping they would stop there.
