Chapter 08

"Don't worry about me Hyunjin. You know I don't let my feelings get in the way of anything. Feelings are what make humans weak. I've always prioritized my own survival above anything and anyone else, why do you think I murdered my own family? It's because my father found out about me being a vampire and nearly got me killed by these stupid vampire catching humans, once I found out the rest of my family was also involved I stabbed a hole into their stomachs, simple as that. If I could do that to the family I once loved I can do it to any other human." Minho shook his head, buttoning his suit properly.

"Okay, what if I told you I'm going to kill your new human buddy?" Hyunjin asked.

Minho laughed. "I'll stick small wooden spears into you, in all places of your body but your heart. Why? Because I won't want you to die, I'd be going too easy on you. I will give you the slowest and most painful death you could ever imagine. You know vampires decay slowly without drinking blood, I'll leave you to starve for hundreds of years to come, don't play with my anger."

"You are seriously so protective over this kid. I won't kill him of course, I stopped killing humans ages ago, I'm trying to live life as one so I can brush past the guilt of killing so many innocent people just to quench my thirst for some blood. I have killed over 400 humans and don't want to add any more to that list." Hyunjin stated.

"I've been around longer and really don't give two shits so try over 6,000 people, I still am not in the least bit guilty. Plus if you had a taste of this new kid's blood, you'd see why i'm still letting him live." Lee Know said. "I know your real reason for being here Hyunjin, you want him too. I remember how you would always pretend to be happy for Jae and I, but in reality you loved him as well, precisely why I killed him. I killed Jae to save our friendship, now that it's over you want me to stay away from Seungmin? From the kid I mean."

Hyunjin got up. "I am assuming this Seungmin is around your human age?" He said, pacing around the dimly lit room.

"Leave Hyunjin leave, i'm telling you to leave now, take this as a chance to escape alive." Lee Know warned, grabbing Hyunjins shirt collar.

"Fine, don't be surprised if I show up in your little humans life. You may say you would kill him, but seeing how you still can't get over Jae who died hundreds of years ago, I don't think you'd actually have the guts to do it again. When it comes to love Minho, you're all bark but no bite." Hyunjin said "That is your only weak point, I'm glad I know. Watch your back!" He said before disappearing into thin air.

"Same to you, dickhead." Lee Know rolled his eyes, finishing off his whisky. "Seungmin, what will I ever do about you?" He ran his finger over the rim of the glass bottle of whisky. "This mess, I suppose I should do something about it." Lee Know swept up the broken pieces before throwing them away. "Seungmin, I don't know if you're awake right now but i'm bored so i'm following you to work." He thought, before going off to the restaurant.

When he got there he saw Seungmin about to walk inside and waited for the boy at the entrance. "Hey there handsome." Minho said, pulling Seungmin near to him by his waist with a hand under his chin. "We're the first ones here, meaning we have about ten minutes to share about our night yesterday." He let go of Seungmins waist and sat down at a round table by the entrance. "My bite marks are fading, how delightful for you, now you don't have to cover it up with a bandage. That is, until I feed on you some more, but that's only later today since I already had breakfast on the way here." He said, gesturing for Seungmin to sit down beside him.

Before Seungmin actually sat down, he took some stuff he would need for work out. Then actually sat back down beside the older. "Hi, how was your night then?" He asked, tying his apron on already.

"It was great! I had a conversation this morning that I would like to share with you though." Minho said, looking over at Seungmin.

"Sure, go for it." Seungmin replied.

Lee Know sighed just thinking about the situation. "You look awfully like this one guy from a few years ago and my super annoying vamp friend. Well my ex friend wants to see you, his name is Hwang Hyunjin. Unless you have a death wish I suggest you avoid him. I won't lie, he's complete eye candy but don't get fooled about that." Lee Know explained.

"Oh alright, then what does he look like?" Seungmin asked, now standing up to pull some papers out from behind the counter.

"Longish legs, long black hair, he's very stubborn, maybe why I have to threaten to kill him to get him to shut up." Minho rolled his eyes. "You look so much like Park Jae it's scary, it also led me to want to get to know you though. Who knows, you guys may be related?" Lee Know said.

"Uh you said a few years ago, right?" Seungmin asked, leaning against the counter to look at Lee Know.

"That's what it felt like. The Victorian age feels like it was just ten years ago, I miss the clothing from back then. The clothes now are tacky and cheap." Minho complained

"Oh I was going to say, I don't remember being related to anyone other than some of my family members in the past few years. But if I wasn't even born yet then, maybe." Seungmin shrugged.

"I've been watching you for some time now, what are you trying to major in for college? If it has anything to do with history I could be of help, I most likely lived through it anyway." Lee Know offered.

"Culinary arts." Seungmin replied before drinking some of his water then placing it back into his bag. He wiped some of the water that ran down his chin with his hand quickly and took out a mirror to fix himself up a bit.

"I can still help you in that area. Just tell me when you need help and i'll do my best." Lee Know said. "Here," He pulled a handkerchief from his suit pocket and held it up in front of Seungmin.

"O-oh thanks." Seungmin said, taking the handkerchief and dabbing his chin a bit before putting it down onto the counter.

"No problem, you should get to work now it's time for this place to open up, i'll be wandering around doing whatever I feel the need to." Minho smiled, getting up from his seat.

"Alrighty then." Seungmin went to the restaurant doors and flipped the sign that said 'closed' to 'open'. Then, he returned back to the counter he was usually standing at and fumbled with something while he waited for customers.

"Oh my gosh, I'm actually working." Minho went back up to Seungmin. "I have literally nothing to do here so i'll be hovering around you a lot, sorry, I don't think you know what you signed up for but i'm a bit of a pest." Lee Know said.

Seungmin laughed a bit before looking over at Minho. "It's fine as long as you don't do the stuff you did last time I was working." He reassured the older.

"Of course not, I would never." Minho gasped, then went back to his normal expression. "You set so many qualifications for me as if I will actually go along with them." He shook his head. "Tsk tsk."

"Oh whatever, if you start pulling those stunts again I'm just going to ignore them again depending on what they are." Seungmin said, writing something down.

"That was yesterday, i'm a whole new person now! Look, I even wore different shoes today, not that you've ever seen any other shoes i've worn. I like this style, a bit." Lee Know said, putting a foot of his forward so Seungmin could see.

"Wow, that was very sincere sounding and very convincing. Mind, blown." Seungmin said, rolling his eyes a bit.

"You are bad at lying and being sarcastic? Pick a struggle." Lee Know sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets.
