Chapter 9. The Expecting

My POV: it had been a year since Lillian and I got married and we were happy as can be Lillian and I woke up early everything seemed well we got up got dressed Lillian wanted to go downstairs to help Nelson and the kitchen staff prepare breakfast I gave her the okay and she went downstairs while I finished getting dressed for the day after I finished getting dressed I headed downstairs for breakfast

Good morning Master Lawrence Mrs Cox and Fanny said

Good morning Mrs Cox and Fanny I replied

I walked down the hall to the dining hall Nelson greeted me Lillian and I sat down at the breakfast table I was reading the newspaper and eating my breakfast when I noticed that Lillian was not eating her breakfast

"Lillian is everything alright darling? "Why are you not eating your breakfast? I asked worriedly

I'am alright darling I guess I'am just not hungry Lillian replied

Well please try and eat a little bit darling I do not want you to collapse while dancing today especially when you do a dance move that requires you to jump I replied gently

Alright darling Lillian replied

Lillian took a couple of bites of her toast and drank a little bit of her tea after breakfast we headed to work I had rehearsals and was preparing for an upcoming theatrical tour  of Hamlet and Lillian was preparing for a spring concert with the ballet company I had dropped her off at where her ballet company was then headed to the theater when I walked in I was greeted by my fellow costars and Clive

Good morning Lawrence "ready to rehearsal today? Sam asked

Sam Baxter is a good friend of mine and was playing Horatio in Hamlet alongside me

Good morning Sam and I'am ready as I ever will be I replied

Sam smiled happily and pat me on the back and we made our way to the stage and started rehearsing everything was going well I looking over my script making sure I remembered my lines including the recitation of the Yorick speech while I was doing so I heard the door of the theater opened frantically and heard someone calling me

Mr Talbot! Mr Talbot! It was Michael who was the young theater errand/messenger boy

"Michael? "What is wrong? I asked looking at him worriedly

Mrs Lillian needs you right away sir she suffered a terrible accident and the ballet company told me to come and get you sir Michael replied breathing heavily

Alright thank you Michael I replied stepping off stage

I rushed to the theater that the ballet company was at the doctor had been sent for as well when I got there Lillian was laying down on a couch in her dressing room I was worried I knew something was not right with Lillian but I did not know what it was after a few minutes Lillian woke up after passing out

Lawrence? Lillian asked tiredly and looked up at me worriedly

Oh thank goodness you are alright darling I came as soon as I heard I hope you are alright and everything darling I said holding her hand gently in my hand

Lillian looked up at me all scared she looked like she had been crying I held her gently in my arms kissing her and rocking her gently after a few minutes the doctor came to examine Lillian

Mr Talbot I need you to step out of the room for a little while while I examine your wife the doctor said

Alright let me know if you need me darling I replied getting up and walking out of the room

Once I was out of the room the doctor examined Lillian I was worried about Lillian I paced back and forth worriedly after a few minutes the doctor opened up the door and left I had asked if I go back in and be with Lillian and the doctor said I could so I walked back in and over to Lillian holding her gently in my arms

"So what did the doctor say? "Is everything alright? I asked looking at her worriedly

Yes everything is alright darling in fact everything is more than alright Lillian answered

What do you mean darling? I asked looking confused

Darling you are going to be a father I'am 2 weeks pregnant with our first child Lillian replied smiling happily and rubbing her stomach

I was over joyed I was finally going to be a father ever since Lillian and I got married we have talking about raising a family and now we finally were and we were happy and we were happy and I would not have it any other way we were happy to become parents
