chapter 5

It was a rainy day today, everyone was forced to stay inside because there might be a flood coming. Phil was watching the news which were presenting the weather for today, Wilbur was strumming his guitar working on his upcoming song, Techno was playing skyblock working on farming potatoes. Tommy just woke up at that time and went to brush his teeth.

He didn't wanna make eye contact with anybody today. After he arrived at the bathroom door he shut the door and did his usual routine. He went back into his room, he felt safe in there. Probably because everyone would knock before entering. He grabbed a notebook and started writing how I felt about them. They were pretty nice so far. I'm just surprised I haven't messed something up so far, i expected to do something wrong until now.

A hour or so passed and my hands got pretty tired, I shoved the notebook under my pillow because I wanted to keep it a secret for now. I went to the window to see what was going on outside and not so long after that I heard a thunder. I flinched and started seeing my parents.

- Flashback start -

I woke up into my old home, hearing yelling from downstairs. I knew it was my parents fighting again. I got up and looked at them hoping they wouldn't see me. I saw my dad throwing a bottle at my mum and that was when i couldn't help but go back into my room.

I closed the door but then I heard my mum scream and collapse on the floor, my dad was coming upstairs, thats when I knew I had to do something. I put a chair locking my door so it could hold him back for a few minutes, I started getting as many clothes as possible making a rope so I could escape, I threw it down and when I heard my dad bust the door I let go and started going down.

I reached the ground and I started running for my life. My dad was too heavy for the rope so he would just fall if he tried to. He had to go back downstairs and go after me. I saw a police officer arresting my dad but then they looked at me, a look I would never forget. I tried to run away from them but it wouldn't help. That was the moment when I got sent to the orphanage.

- flashback end -

"Tommy? Tommy?! TOMMY?!"

I heard a familiar voice shouting my name.

My vision became clear again.

I could see everyones concerned looks, I thought to myself:

' oh god did i mess up something again.. '

"Tommy are you okay?!" Techno asked me, clearly knowing that something happened.

"Oh, yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I said trying to calm him down.

He sighed in relief and said:

"You froze for a second there, bud."

"Really, I did?"

I saw Wilbur chuckle a bit, thats when everybody calmed down.

"It looked like you were having a flashback, Tom." Techno said.

"Well, I was, but I just don't like lighting that much."

Everyone but Techno left the room leaving me with him. We both stared at each other before Techno pulled me into a tight hug. I could tell he was concerned about me which made me feel appreciated again.

"Tommy, do you wanna watch a movie with us? You know, movie night." he asked me.

I couldn't help but say yes. We both went downstairs and decided to watch Hamilton, by Wilbur's request. It was about half into the movie when i realised Techno had fallen asleep, he probably didn't sleep last night. I let him sleep because it wasn't bothering me, I knew I was gonna fall asleep too sooner or later.

I tried to get up without waking up Techno, that failed. He woke up but didn't say anything. I went quickly to the bathroom and got some snacks for everyone, then I sat back down in front of him.

Wilbur's favourite part came on and he started whispering the lyrics, it was almost like a whispering concert. We all had fun but movie night unfortunately had come to an end. We all returned to our rooms and slept, except for me and probably Techno.

I couldn't sleep so I stood up listening to music. Techno noticed I wasn't sleeping and it was like 4am so he came into my room and asked:

"Why aren't you sleeping?"

I quickly needed to come up with an excuse but I ran out of time and just said the truth:

"I can't sleep."

I saw the look in his eyes and got a bit scared. He came closer to me and not long after that he brought me into a hug. After that I fell asleep almost instantly, he was patting my head gently and I couldn't help but feel extremely tired. Not long after that he fell asleep as well.

A/N: some people might have skipped some chapters so again, there are no ships in this book ONLY friendships/wholesome family moments! also sorry for not updating in a heck lot of time, i really have no excuse for this. it was my laziness lol. anyways have a great rest of your day/afternoon/night <3
