A/N: Chapters will be short because well, I'm not exactly a long chapter person. I'm more of a short chapters but frequent updates person. Seriously. I usually will update every one or two days.
Where am I? Where's Mother? Were the first things to cross Eliza's mind as she opened her eyes. Then she remembered. The Shadow Wolves had killed her mother and she was in the forest.
She's awake, said a horse. Eliza saw there was a whole herd of whisp horses. The Whisp Herd. All of them had long wispy manes and tails. They were soft shades of white, brown and gray. Eliza stood up and said, Thank you. She looked over them and spotted a foal with deep blue eyes that was almost a adult but not quite yet. Unlike the rest of them, he looked sad. Eliza walked over to him.
What's your name? she asked.
The foal whispered, I don't have one.
Eliza declared, Then your name shall be Whisper.
Whisper murmured a thank you. Eliza pet his long silky golden brown mane and scratched the itchy spots on his similarly colored hide.
The next morning...
"Hello," Eliza greeted Whisper. Whisper looked at her as if she just told him that she was a hippo in disguise. Oh right. Good morning, Whisper.
Good morning, Whisper nickered back. He seemed immensely relieved that Eliza was still able to talk to him. I thought I imagined you being able to talk to me.
Eliza laughed. How else would I ask your name? Or talk to you?
I don't know? Whisper looked embarrassed.
Eliza laughed again. This time Whisper also laughed. The two of them were rolling on the ground giggling as they thought of how silly they both could be.
