MYSTIC FALLS has been a home to many people. And though she's never been noticed by the cooler and more known members of society, Reyna has lived in the small town her entire life.

She graduated early and went to college to follow her dreams. And now she's become a brilliant doctor, treating many people in Mystic Falls the past year. But they never notice her, not even when she's standing right in front of them. Reyna has always just been invisible when it comes to Elena Gilbert and her friends. So it's no surprise that when her family gets killed because of Elena's actions, they don't care enough to notice.

When Reyna Everett's name appeared on Caroline's wrist, she knew she'd heard the name before. So the first thing she does when she gets home the following day, is look through some older yearbooks she found. And now she simply stares at the books in front of her with regret.

Caroline realizes why she's heard the name before, and now she isn't sure if Reyna will ever want to speak to her. Because they've refused to acknowledge Reyna's existence for years now. But Caroline decides that she has to try, because she'd rather take that risk than sit here feeling sorry for herself. So before anyone can question her, she goes off in search of her soulmate.

A LOCKER slams shut, the sound echoing throughout the empty hospital staff room

A LOCKER slams shut, the sound echoing throughout the empty hospital staff room. As the sound of her sighing vibrates off the walls, Reyna leans her back against her personal locker. She pulls a locket out from underneath her shirt collar, before running a delicate thumb over the flowers engraved on top of it.

It's the end of Reyna's shift at the hospital, and it's already almost two in the morning. But it's not like anyone is expecting her home or looking for her anywhere. The thought alone causes tears to prick in Reyna's eyes, because her parents would've been calling her nonstop to make sure she's okay. All the while, her baby brothers would have been snuggling up together in her bed, waiting for her to come home and wrap them up in her arms.
