⚓︎ ⚓︎ONE OF THE most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone. And Reyna doesn't want to live in the kind of world where people don't look out for each other. It's not just about helping the people that are close to one another, but anybody who needs a helping hand. She can't change the way everybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but Reyna knows that she can at least do her own part. Because Reyna can't help but to believe, that nothing is more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.
It's for these reasons that Reyna chose to become a doctor. She wanted to be able to help others, constantly and without hesitation. It's also for this reason that Reyna sits next to one of her patients, trying to convince him to take the meds he's been prescribed.
He had already told her that he doesn't want to take any drugs. That he had come here specifically not to take any drugs, and has tiressly pleaded with Reyna to give him some other kind of solution.
"Listen," Reyna says, her kindness seeping out through her eyes, "up until now I would say that ninety-nine percent of all the narcotics you have taken in your life, you bought from guys you didn't know. In bathrooms, on street corners, something like that. Correct?"
The patient merely nods, his eyes filling up with hot tears.
"Well these guys could have been selling you salt or strychnine. They don't really care, they only wanted your money. I don't care about your money, and, unlike your previous suppliers, I went to college to study just the right drugs to give to people like you in order to help you get better. So, bearing all that in mind, please just take the drugs we've prescribed you with."
The man nods, and takes the medicine from Reyna's outstretched hand. Once he's swallowed the pills, Reyna smiles at him. And he can't help but smile back at her, knowing she's going to change his life for the better.

REYNA has seen many people come and go from the emergency room, but Jonathan Gilbert is a man she's never expected to see before. She does everything she can do stop his bleeding wound, not allowing the tingles all over her arm distract her. Now is really not the time to go searching for more of her soulmates.
Once she's sure John is stable, Reyna instructs for him to be put under a 48-hour watch. Because this was no accident, and she knows that someone had cut off John Gilbert's fingers intentionally.
On her way back to her office, Reyna takes a small detour to stop in and check on Caroline. But before she gets there, Caroline's name begins to burn a fiery pain up her arm again. Reyna's pace picks up, worry consuming her entire being. She sees Elena Gilbert leaving the room quickly, but Reyna doesn't stop. The doctor enters Caroline's hospital room in a hurry, hearing the flatline on the heart monitor.
