I begin to grow fidgety as I sit with my knees perched to my chest in Abel's car. Why is he taking so long?
Something isn't right.
"Whatever you do, do not get out of the car," he warned. But how can I just sit here without knowing what's going on?
"Fuck this," I mumble, opening the car door. The cool air is fresh on my damp skin and I feel a chill rake down my spine. I shuffle around the vintage car and begin to make my way up the mysterious driveway to find where Abel went.
Overgrown trees and large bushes surround the gravel road, and the house at the end is large and full of dark green moss. I spot the front door sitting slightly ajar and take a deep breath before approaching it.
I can't see anyone inside. The room is dimly lit and the couch seems to be empty. I let myself in and try to find where Abel is. All I want is to get out of here and get back to my dorm.
"It's not like that!" I hear a voice demand from another room. His voice, no doubt. I can recognise it from a mile away now.
"Then what the fuck are you doing man? This ain't no joke," another voice hisses back. What are they talking about?
"She's different. Give me time on this!" Abel yells again. I stop dead in my tracks. Are they talking about me?
"You're getting yourself sucked in big time," The voice barks. "I won't have you fucking over this deal because you're pussy whipped over some college bitch."
The room grows silent and I hear a fist slam to wood.
"You better watch your fucking mouth Marcus," Abel says through his teeth. "I know what the fuck I'm doing, do you understand me? Know your fucking place and stay out of it."
Indecipherable yelling, again, then another fist slamming. "I don't have time for your games Abel. Just fuck her and be done with it."
My breath hitches in my throat. I need to get out of here before I throw up.
I turn to leave but in my haste trip on the small rug on the floor and slam to the ground.
Fuck fuck fuck.
I scramble to my feet but it's too late. I turn reluctantly to see Abel towering above me, the three boys standing close behind him and scowling at me.
"Well, well, well," The tallest one says. "Look at what we have here. You've found yourself a nice little eavesdropper, Abel."
Abel doesn't remove his furious gaze from where I am on the floor. My legs begin to shake. What have I gotten myself into?
"Get up," he demands, and I waste no time getting to my feet.
"I'm sorry-"
"Save it!" He hisses, and grabs me by the arm towards the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" The same guy yells again. He seems angrier this time. "She ain't leaving without us knowing what she heard!"
"Fuck off, Marcus!" Abel yells, throwing me in the direction of the door. "We're leaving."
"You're fucking not- " But before he can finish, Abel slams his fist into Marcus' jaw. "Yes, we are."
He grabs me again and practically drags me up the drive, leaving Marcus a howling mess on the floor of the corridor. At this point, my legs are like jelly and I'm struggling to breathe. Is he going to kill me? He's so angry...
"Abel, I'm s- "
"Shut up!"
He shoves me into the passenger seat of the car and slams the door behind him. When he jumps into the driver's side, his fists are bright red and shaking like a leaf. I've never seen him this angry before, and I'm not sure that I want to again.
"I didn't realise that you didn't want me to- "
"What part of STAY IN THE FUCKING CAR did you not understand?" He screams, and I cower closer to the door. "You could have been killed! These guys don't come to play Arabella."
I sigh and plant my head in my knees. I'm torn between being terrified and infuriated by what I heard back there. I have no idea what they were talking about or what any of it means.
We are silent the whole drive back. As I begin to recognise the streets once again, I decide it's now or never to ask Abel what's going on.
"What did that guy mean, by you 'fucking over this deal ?" I whisper.
Abel stiffens in the driver's seat.
"It's none of your business," he snaps, still looking ahead.
I sigh. "Please? I want to know."
"No."
"Abel- ""I said no, damn it!" He yells and slams his hands against the steering wheel. "Why can't you just fucking listen?"
I scowl and look over at him. "Let me out of the car," I demand.
"What?"
"I said let me out of the car!"
"No, what the f- "
I open the side door and it swings open, almost hitting a car in the lane next to us.
"Arabella what the fuck!" Abel is furious and swerves over to the side of the road. I get out and he quickly idles the engine and catches me before I get too far.
"Can we just get back in the car and talk about this?" He says, more gently this time. "I promise I will stop yelling. Just please, get back in the car."
I can feel tears welling in my eyes. Why does he have to be so damn hard to read?
"Fine."
I pull my arm from his grip and reluctantly head into the car. This time, I head for the back seat. I don't want to sit next to him in the mood that I'm in.
"Baby," Abel starts. I shoot him a glare. He sighs and follows me into the backseat.
"Leave me alone," I whine. "I don't even want to talk to you."
"No, listen," He coos. He shuts the door and stares deeply into my eyes. "I'm sorry. You shouldn't have heard all of that. I can explain everything. Just, not now."
He looks to the floor and I sigh. I want to push him for more, but I don't want to ruin the day we just had. I'd rather keep him in this mood without answers than have him yelling at me again.
I reach over and trace my fingers around his stubbly chin. His eyes shoot up and meet mine, not leaving them for a second as I move my fingers back over his lips and cheek.
"Next time then," I whisper. Before I can move an inch further, his lips on mine and he leans over to kisses me passionately.
"Abel," I moan between our lips meeting. He slides his hands down to my waist and pushes me over to give himself more room. I can feel his fingers gliding along the hem of my jeans, fighting to get through the thick fabric.
Abel deepens the kiss and starts to undo my top button and zip, quickly sliding his hand down to where he wants them. Just the feeling of him against my skin is enough to drive me crazy.
"Abellll," I moan again as he pushes the small fabric aside to massage my clit with his fingers.
My mouth opens against his and my eyes roll back into my head as he continues to work his magic with his hands. My head begins to spin as he brings his lips to my neck, gliding his tongue around my sensitive spots.
"I'm sorry baby," He coos. "I hope you can forgive me."
"I- "Before I can finish, I feel him slip two fingers inside me and I'm a moaning mess. "Fuck!"
He pumps harder and drags his thumb around my clit as he does so, making me cling to him even harder. Everything around me slips away; I don't have a care in the world for the passing cars and busy highway as Abel makes me come in the back of his car.
My legs are like jelly as he removes his soaked fingers from me and shoves them in his mouth.
"So fucking sweet," he whispers as my mouth drops open at the sight of him. He's so hot. It's not fair.
Boy am I in for some deep fucking shit.
