The spotted heroines energy was decreasing quickly, this villain was more difficult than the others... there was a new anger. "Chat Noir! We need to back off and recharge!" She yells to her partner. He nods, dodging into an alleyway. She catches a glimpse of his green light as she swings to a different location. The villain -taking this as his chance- goes to accomplish whatever he was after, whatever Hawk Moth promised him. Ladybug kept reminding herself of this as she swung away from her chaton. "Tikki, spots off." Marinette whispered, releasing Tikki from her earring prison.

"Marinette, you need to be careful." Tikki warns, eating a cookie in large bites. "I remember a super-villain like this..." the kwami's holder nodded as she took a bite of the other cookie. Suddenly, Tikki shoots up. "Marinette! You can't transform!" The kwami tells her.

"M'lady!" A hushed voice yells. Chat was looking for her.

"Why not Tikki?" Marinette asked, nervously peaking around the corner to see a glimpse of his blonde hair. "He is going to see who I am!"

"Nevermind... you never got his, nothing should happen." Tikki nods, telling Marinette she was ready.

"Tikki! Spots on." Her vision blurs as the miraculous absorbs Tikki. Where the suit normally lays, a burning sensation is replaced. Tears and whimpers escape as she calls out for her partner. "Chaton..." Ladybug says when Chat Noir reaches her. He wasn't transformed, but she could make out severe burns where his suit would normally lay.

"L-ladybug! You need to detransform." He yells at her, using all of his strength to run to her.. "I'll close my eyes, I-I promise." Chat Noir knew his consciousness was slipping away as well as he crumbled next to her. The remnants of the burns infecting his stamina.

"Tikki..." the girl whispers. She didn't want to speak... it hurt to speak, but she did. "S-spots off."

-

"Marinette...?" The girl knew the voice of her mother anywhere. The room was extraordinarily bright, as if she had been asleep forever.

Where am I?

"Maman?" The girl asks. Her body wouldn't listen to her as she tried to sit up. Sabine knew this and rested her hands on the girls shoulders, pushing her back down into her bed. Marinette looked around... was she in a hospital room. "Where am I?" Her body now listening as she weakly shot up, eyes darting around the room. She noticed the absence of her father as well. "Where is Papa?"

"Marinette, chérie (sweetheart)... you are in a hospital, you've been in a coma for two years." Her mother informs her. Sabine wanted to embrace her daughter, she wanted to cry and tell her everything that had happened after they moved but she didn't want to startle her.Worry begins to strike the girl.

"Two years?! Who's been protecting Paris? Where's Papa?" Sabine's brow furrows as the girls head swings from left to right rapidly, suddenly focusing on the window. "Shanghai..?"

"Marinette... we moved to Shanghai before the accident. Do you not remember?" The girl suddenly noticed all the nurses in the room, they were all surrounding... her.  She shook her head, no. "Your father stayed in Paris to keep the bakery open so I could open one in Shanghai, next to Uncle Wang's-" her mother was interrupted by a woman in a white coat.

"Excuse me, Mrs. Cheng. I need you to leave the room. I need to check your daughters vitals." Her mother nodded obediently, tears began to escape down her cheeks. The doctor nodded all of the other shaken nurses out of the room as she made her way to the girl in bed. "Would you like me to call you Marinette or Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" The doctor asked her patient as Marinette stood there in shock.

"M-Marinette." The girl wanted to get straight down to business. "Now, who's protecting Paris?!" She asked rapidly. Begging for answers. The nurse seemed amused but also confused by this.

"Paris has had no need for protection." The nurse informs her. This makes Marinette even more angry.

"Hawk Moth?"

"Who's Hawk Moth?" The doctor had begun to write things down, scribbling notes about Marinette in her notebook. When she noticed Marinette stopped talking she looked up, noticing the tears on the teenagers face.

"Chat Noir..." she whispered into her hands as they reached her face. She tried to ask Marinette more questions but she just sobbed, crying names that sounded like they were straight out of a television show.

"I think you need some sleep." The doctor whispers. Her heels clicking on the tile as she made her way to the door. "Please click the button to your left when you are ready." The door shut and Marinette decided that it would be a good idea to sleep. Maybe sleeping was how she woke up.

-Around the same time-

"Notify the parents. He's awake!" Adrien's eyes were focusing on a nurse, anxiety rising as he noticed a hospital robe. He tried to stand but he was too weak, noticing that even sitting up was a chore.

Parents?

"Excuse me..." Adrien tried to ask the nurse. Unfortunately, the nurse was rabidly demanding things of people outside the room while another nurse made sure his room was clean. Where was Ladybug? Why was he not burning? What had happened to the Akuma? Nurses and doctors echo through the hallway as they come to see if the Agreste boy was really awake.

"Move it." Adrien hears his fathers say. "Let us get to our son!" And soon enough two figures make their way to the door.

"Father!" Adrien says, noticing his dad first. Then his eyes adjust to the second silhouette. "Mom!" The boy tries to stand again but to no surprise finds himself too weak.

"Adrien!" They yelp in unison, embracing him.

"What happened?" The boy says, ruining the moment. He kept looking at his mother but found it forbidden to ask.

"You don't remember?" The male nurse asked. Although, now looking at him, Adrien realized it was the doctor.

"I mean I do but-" He was Chat Noir when it happened. He couldn't tell them.

"Tell us what you remember, mon fils (my son)." His mothers voice broke through to him. He couldn't contain the secret.

"There was a super villian created by-"

"A super villain?" The room asked in unison.

"Yes, an Akuma." Adrien urged, trying to get people to know what he was talking about.

"Mon fils, there is no such this as an 'akuma'." His mother informs him, resting her hand on his shoulder, laying him back down.

"But Ladybug-" the boy begs, someone had to remember. His anger made his heart beat exhilarate.

"His heart rate!" Someone yells as they rush the parents away from the bed side.

"He's going into shock!" Someone else yells.

"Adrien!" His mother calls as she is escorted out of the room.

"You cannot take us away from our son!" HIs father commands.

His world, once again, goes dark.
