𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝-𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧

"Mom, it isn't my fault, I swear!" Y/n groaned and poked at the carrots on her plate.

"You brought her to that party!" The mother sighed and rubbed her forehead, resting her arm on the dining table.

"Only because you made me! How was I supposed to know she'd run away from the house and try to rob a convenience store!?" Y/n leaned back in her chair crossing her arms.

"You were supposed to watch her, now she's on her way home! You're so irresponsible."

"She's 17, she can watch herself! Besides, it's not like she even got anywhere by running full speed into a glass door with a broken plastic fork!" She hid a chuckle.

The mother sighed and covered her face, then pointed at the stairs. "Your room, go, now."

"Gladly." Y/n pushed herself up out of her chair and stomped her way into her room. She plopped down onto her bed and turned on her side, reaching for the switch for her orange salt lamp that sat on her cluttered nightstand. She was too tired to read, or go on her phone, so she just laid there until she eventually fell asleep still in her clothes from the day earlier.

-October 26th, Saturday, 5 days before Halloween

"There are only 5 days until Halloween, and we STILL don't have costumes." The ginger blew a strand of hair out of her face and aggressively typed away at her black laptop.

"That's plenty of time." Y/n smiled, laying on her best friend's bed on her stomach, resting her chin on the palm of her hand.

"Yeah, maybe we just shouldn't dress up Emma." Ray sat on the edge of the girl's twin bed.

"NO! NO WAY! I've dressed up every single year, even when I was sick!" Emma shouted and sprang out of her chair with frustration.

"Well, then you can dress up, and the rest of us will just cheer you on."
