It was morning. The sun was out already, spreading its slanted beams of light across the curtains of the room.Rays of light reflected, filling my room with the prismatic colours just as a rainbow. My messy room needed a serious arrangement. My working table was overwhelmed with mountains of books and scripts. It was an eyesore. And why wouldn't it be when the occupant of the room herself was still coping with her lethargy.

I was still in bed, unwilling to face the daylight.I pulled the bedclothes to my neck to stay warm.Just then, I heard my phone buzzing on the bedside table. My hand snaked out of the quilt to grab the phone to answer the call.

"Hello, " I murmured sluggishly without checking the caller ID.

"Amara! You're still sleeping?" a familiar voice shouted on the other end of the line.No need to look back to check the ID, it was definitely Kate who was probably going through one of her unexisting mental disorders.

"What hap, Kate?"

"You are asking me what happened as if I knew what's happening to me right now. I'm going crazy with this throbbing headache. It hurts!" she vented out her pain.

"Congratulations on your first hangover dear!" I said laughingly.

"Hangover?How?When?" she blurted out.

"Well, someone happened to have emptied a number of beer bottles yesterday.Guess who now?"

"Urghhh... Of course the one who is suffering from this uninvited headache."

"Yup.You got it right."

"I don't remember anything of what happened on the previous night.Everything is blurred in my mind."

"I'll say that you are actually experiencing the symptoms of your first hangover and so,it is highly adviced that you order a large glass of sparkling lemon juice from your maid to alleviate the pain a bit.It will help you." I sounded like her doctor.

"Yes Dr.Amara."

"Very funny.... " i tried laughing at her joke that matched my thought.

"Ok serious now. Thanks for the tip honey. Hey, do you have any special plans for today?"

"Nope. You're lucky enough that I'm free today and I guess you've already made our plans where the first thing at the top of the list would be most probably shopping."

"You know me so well."

"Yeah think so."

"Ok so, sharp 11 at the shopping mall near the cafeteria."

"Done deal! "

" Bye see you later then."

"Bye." I hanged on the phone call.

I jumped out of the bed and dashed into the bathroom for a quick shower. The shower was reviving. All my lethargy was gone and I could officially say that I was fully awake!I slid into my sleeveless feather like dress that reached at least 5cm above my knee exposing my legs .For one time, I applied a light makeup and I tied my hair into a ponytail leaving a tuft of hair.I slipped in my black flats since shopping with Kate equaled to uncountable hours of walking. I was finally ready. I walked to the living room to check on dad.

I found him behind the couch. He looked confused as he was looking for something. He had his old t-shirt and an open checked shirt with the sleeves rolled up.He almost acted like a spy, examining every corner of the room. This awakened my curiosity.

"Morning Dad! " I greeted him but he didn't look back but just replied by a simple 'good morning'. What was wrong with him?I thought.

"Maybe I can help you if you tell what you are looking for?" I joked.
