A song about being seventeen
"I Saw Her Standing There" by the Beatles.
I mean, is there really a better option?
THIS SONG IS THE BEST. I love it. People dismiss the Beatles' earlier stuff, but I like this song better than most of the tracks on Magical Mystery Tour.
The first two lines are just a little bit off ("Well she was just 17 / yeah you know what I mean"—do we, Paul? Really?) but it works with the song and overall I have nothing to criticize.
Plus, this was like one of the only songs the DJ played at my friend's Bat Mitzvah that was from before 2000, and you can just imagine how happy I was about that after being subjected to a lot of auto-tuned crap for hours.
