A song that someone showed you

Soooo many. Probably half of my music taste can be attributed to my dad.

But, being restricted to just one, today's song will be "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" by Tom Lehrer (which my dad did show me).

I don't know if any of you have heard of Tom Lehrer, but he's a mathematician who recorded a lot of satirical, humorous songs in the 50s and 60s. He was also a professor and served in the military.

But anyway: "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park." When I first heard this, I was so disturbed. My dad was laughing, but I was all, what the hell? Then I heard it again, and again, and realized that it's really quite hilarious. The contrast of a zip-a-dee-do-dah springtime scene and these really dark lyrics about poisoning pigeons with various chemicals...it's sounds awful but you need to hear it to understand.

So please enjoy this very strange song, and if you have the same sense of humor that I have apparently inherited from my dad and his dad, you will find it extremely funny.
