After her sister breaks both her legs in a climbing accident, Venus Sweeney has to step in as a model in her absence. Instead of spending her summer getting ready for her last year of veterinary school, she is now set to spend time in Italy with a painter who has a bad reputation, a permanent frown, and an immense talent. Forced to be in each other's company, neither think they could ever hate another person more. However a whole month, Italian mountain air, summer, and art, might just be able to change their minds, eventually.
This book has been in my reading list for so long and I totally regret not reading it sooner!
It is simply just so so so well written. As I was reading this, I couldn't help but really take note of the beautiful language and words the author uses. Specifically the mention of the planets and stars as the main character is named Venus....certain paragraphs are like love letters, I honestly read them A couple of times over.
I also love that the protagonist is plus size (the authors note at the end talks about this, which I thought was really great), and although she is comfortable with herself, faces issues so many of us face in our relationship with our bodies. Another big plus is that the author really seems to aim to be inclusive in her writing, including non-binary characters etc.
Oh and of course Harry is great too! I love a bit of a hate to love storyline, and this one is so well done...not over the top.
