It was probably one of the stupidest things Denki Kaminari had ever said. Just a stupid little quick and witty joke that spilled out while he was studying with the one and only Hitoshi Shinsou. But that joke. That stupid ass joke. Made the emo laugh. A genuine laugh at that.
Light blush sprawled across Kaminari's face as he stared in awe. He had never seen Shinsou smile like that before. No one really had. He was snapped out of his trance when he realized he had probably been staring and might've come off as creepy.
He attempted to lightly chuckle at his own joke before going back to scribbling notes down on his math homework. During the rest of the afternoon, Kaminari felt the light butterflies dancing around in his stomach.
Pretty much everyone in class 1A knew Kaminari was a bisexual mess who had crushes on every girl or guy he found attractive. But he had never felt this way with someone before. He never understood the true meaning of the word "crush" until he met Shinsou. He had transfered to class 1A about 2 weeks ago after Mineta got expelled for being to pervy with some of the girls in the class. In that 2 weeks, Kaminari had somehow managed to squeeze his way into Shinsou's cirlce of trust and friendship. Something no one else had been able to accomplish in the past.
Shinsou really enjoyed Kaminari's company. He found the smaller male annoying at times, but then again, who didn't? Overall however, he would always eat lunch with Kaminari and they would always hang out after school. Even if majority of the times they ate lunch or hung out was always Kaminari's suggestion. He always said yes. Even if him and his friends were annoying. Even if he was in an off mood that day. He just accepted his fate as Kaminari's friend.
Kaminari, being the bi mess he is, instantly formed a "crush". But only soon after did he realize it was much more than that. He adored Shinsou and would always study his movements and behavior. He knew the little things like how he made his coffee, how when he was nervous he would fiddle with his fingers and bite his lip, and how he always seemed a little calmer around Kaminari. Which always made him feel happy and special.
The two boys finished their study session relatively quickly and decided to watch a movie. Both males decided to choose a movie they had both seen before so that casual banter didn't disrupt. The move played and the two males would constantly point out flaws in the logic and overall just make fun of the silly cartoon movie they had chosen (you can decide what movie it was idc. tho i think they wouldve chosen scooby doo).
The last bits of the movie were filled with silence. Shinsou didn't really think much of it until he realized Kaminari was leaning on the taller, and slightly younger, males shoulder (i literally looked up the birthdays and ages to figure out who was older lmao). Shinsou felt the light blush come on as he contemplated what to do. Should i wake him? Should I let him sleep? What do I do in this situation?! He pondered to himself as he felt the smaller male shift.
"Shinsou?" Kaminari asked in a groggy voice.
Shinsou found Kaminari adorable and quickly felt his face heat up as he responded with a quiet "What do you need Kaminari?"
"'m tired," Kaminari stated, cuddling closer to Shinsou. At this point Kaminari's brain was on auto pilot and didn't realize what it was making him do.
Shinsou went full gay panic mode. "O-ok do you want me to take you to your dorm?" He spoke, forcing as much calmness into his voice as he could.
"No. I think I'm good right here"
Shinsou decided to let it be and watch a funny sit-com to calm him down. After a few episodes of that he noticed the sun getting low in the sky and he shook Kaminari awake.
"mmmmmm," Kaminari groaned as he started waking up and his mind fully understood what he was doing. He shot up and started frantically apologizing. His mind was racing, face blushing red as ever, words spitting out faster than a fire spreading through a house, and slightly tearing up, though he had no idea why he felt like crying. His brain landed on the conclusion of possible rejection as the cause. He couldn't lose Shinsou. He had never met someone who could make him feel the ways Shinsou made him feel. His mind was over reacting, sure, but it all felt so real and scary for Kaminari.
"Woah, woah, calm down," Shinsou instructed, placing a hand on Kaminari's shoulder. Kaminari fell silent and stiff as he sat there. Shinsou kept one hand on Kaminari's shoulder, and moved the other to wipe the tear that was currently streaming down his face. "It's okay," Shinsou spoke again, calmer this time. "You're okay"
Kaminari melted into Shinsou's touch as they sat there in silence. After a few minutes Kamianri finally spoke up. "I'm sorry..." He spoke almost inaudibly but loud enough for Shinsou to hear him.
"What are you sorry for? You did nothing wrong."
"I shouldn't of fallen asleep on you. It was wrong of me to do without consent," He still spoke just above a whisper.
"It's really okay Kaminari. If there's something going on in that brain of yours that's making you freak out like this we can talk about it if you want. If not that's fine too..."
Kaminari was silent for a second before making eye contact with Shinsou and asking the ever so personal question of "Do you have a crush on anyone?"
Shinsou was silent as he thought for a moment. "You know I think I might."
"What's she like?"
"He," Shinsou corrected. "Well, he's really sweet, and funny, and kind, but also can be kind of annoying sometimes, but in a good way yanno?"
"He sounds wonderful," Kaminari spoke with sorrowful eyes and a small, fake smile.
"What about you? Do you have a crush on anyone?"
"I- Well yeah, I do. But he'd never like me back," Kaminari sadly chuckled as he looked back at the bed he and Shinsou sat on.
Shinsou thought for a second. "I'll tell you my crush if you tell me yours." Now he sounded like a 2nd grader trying to bargain info from a friend.
Kaminari was kinda curious who his crush was so he slightly nodded his head in agreement.
"Mk then. On the count of three. 1... 2... 3..." They both spat out the word "you" and then just stared in shock at the other male.
"And you said your crush would never like you back," Shinsou joked, pulling Kaminari into a hug. Kaminari chuckled at his statement while the hug slowly made its way into a cuddle. They both slept like that. Kaminari on top of Shinou, one of Shinsou's hand in Kaminari's hair, the other on his back. They would work on the whole "boyfriend" label later. For now the two just wanted sleep. The first real sleep they had gotten all week.
