Brook's POV

I woke up by the smell of bacon. I looked at my alarm clock and it read 8:45 am

I walk downstairs and sat down at the table. I filled my plate up with bacon and toast. My mom also made grits but they are Nasty!!!!

I heard footsteps running down the stairs to see a very tired yet hungry Rhett.

"How did you beat me down here?" Rhett asked.

"When I smell food, I'm fast. " I explained.

I ate and I put my plate in the sink. I sit on the couch and watch spongebob because he is the shit. Spongebob and plankton were about to sing the F.U.N song when my phone went off.

I ran upstairs to get dressed. I put on baby blue tank top that says "Forever Young" then I put on my light washed denim Jean shorts. I slipped on my blue vans and grabbed my wallet and walked downstairs.

"Mom I'm going to hang out with Hayes. Is that ok?"

"Yea sure. And just stay there because we're having dinner over there anyways. "

I walk out the door and headed to the park. It took me about 3 mins. I look around and saw Hayes on a swing. I walk over there and sat down.

"So I have everything planned out today!" He says really excited.

"Wait. I thought Asked you to hangout...."

"Oh well. I'm in control now bish!" He says in a demanding voice. It was kinda cute...

"Leggo." He says walking to me. He lead the way to the skating rink.

"Hayes. I can't skate. "

"Me either!" Hayes says laughing. We went inside and got out skates. We walked inside the actually skating rink and got on the floor.

Once I hit the rink, I started slipping and sliding. So did Hayes!

"See it isn't so ha-" Hayes said. He got cut of mid serene by falling on his butt. I was laughing so hard but he haut gave me the death glare.

"Well that was the most fun I've had in a long time. " I said. We started to walk but we weren't going back to his house.

"Where are we going." I asked.

"Well it's 9 pm. We've missed dinner so let's just walk. " Hayes says

We started to walk to the lake. Once we got there we sat right by the water.

Hayes POV

We got to the lake and sat down by the water. It looked so peaceful. The way the moon was hitting the lake made it so calming.

"So I have a question " I say to Brook

"Yea. Shoot" she says.

"What happened to your dad. I've never seen him or heard of him..." I asked. Goddamnit that was a bad question ...

"Um. He died. I was 3 and he had a heart Attack. So I really don't remember him. " she said looking straight at the water. You could tell she was hurting by the way her voice was

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. "

"It's ok"

I look at Brook. She looked stunning in the moonlight. The way her golden brown hair became a medium brown. The moon shimmered on her Blue/Grey eyes. Her light freckles across her nose and checks.

That feeling I got when I saw Nash cuddling with Brook. The way I felt like I was protecting her during the scary movie. The way that in looking at her now. I always get a weird feeling when I'm around her.

Oh shit. I can't develop feelings for Brook. She's my best friend. But what if i want to.......
