It was truly miraculous how much the human body could go through and still survive. When you had gone to sleep the night prior you weren't certain you'd ever wake up again, and yet, here you are- a weak, silver light flooded in through an open window you hadn't even noticed in your exhausted stumble from yesterday. The curtains had been drawn wide open, letting the clouded sky show through outside of the glass. Your head wasn't throbbing anymore and your body felt no more than a dull ache; compared to what you had been expecting, this was more than welcome. Slowly you sat up, one hand raising to press to your forehead as your vision swam momentarily before settling yet again a few moments later.

"Shit," You mumble out the words, your throat scratchy and dry, "Thirsty." You glance quickly around the room, hoping to find Billy or a water bottle or something to quench your thirst but the quick scan turned up fruitless. With a groan, you flip your blankets aside and stagger to your feet. You weren't a morning person and never had been. Now was no different. What time even was it? Fuck if you knew, and fuck if you cared as well. Right now the only thing on your mind was getting a glass of water to ease the burning in the back of your mouth, a probable result of yesterday's screaming. It all seemed sort of surreal to you, the running and hiding, seeing your own mother killed right before your eyes (therefore leaving you parentless, since your father had been killed years ago now), finding Billy and Stu and being brought here, to this place, where everyone was cryptic and you had been warned never to leave Billy's side. It was difficult to believe that it had really happened. You must be in some state of shock. With no sign of Billy, you give yourself the all-clear to wander around in search of either him or the kitchen to get yourself some precious water. You pick your way carefully over the mattress on the floor towards the room's exit, letting out a yawn just as you reached it before grabbing the handle and flinging it open.

"Where do you think you're going?" You startle, sucking in a shocked breath and leaping a foot backwards.

"Jesus Christ Stu what the hell are you-" A hand flies to your chest, resting over your now-thrumming heart as you screw your eyebrows together in a grimace. "You scared the shit out of me. Why are you just- lurking?" You start to move forwards again, planning to push past him to resume your quest for hydration, but he beats you to it and leans heavily against the doorway to successfully block your path.

"Billy gave me 20 bucks to babysit you while he's out. I'm taking this very seriously because he only gave me half of it up front." Stu crossed his arms, amusement glittering in his gaze as you let out a scoff and square your shoulders.

"No, that's bullshit. Move it, or at least get me some fucking water."

"You really swear a lot, don't you? You're definitely related to him." Stu isn't budging, and shrugs with one shoulder as he speaks. "He said you couldn't leave the room." You weren't having this. After a shitty night and what felt like the greatest sleep of your life you aren't letting Stu keep you from a simple glass of water. You dart forwards as quick as possible, hopping with an almost impossible grace through the tiny sliver of space provided by this human blockade.

"Hey-" Sadly, you don't make it very far before Stu, even more nimble than you, has caught you by the shoulders and is forcing you right back where you started, "No no no no, not happening. I need that cash, I just ran out of snacks. Don't make this difficult." He gives you a little shove, sending you staggering forwards and almost tripping over the inflatable mattress on the floor. As soon as you've regathered your balance you whirl to face him once more, hands balled into frustrated fists at your sides.

"Seriously? What are you, three? It can't be that bad out there. It's not like I'm gonna be killed or something." You say, words snipped and impatient. Stu grins, rolling his eyes, and glances quickly over his shoulder.
