H A Y E S.
it been 2 months sense i've been expelled from school after that happened i tried to find a job but nowhere's would take me so i went back to selling. my mom found out and kicked me out because she took from my shit after telling all of us she was sober. i've never hit my mother before that day. i still come and pick up Monica for school and take her for breakfast every once in awhile.
i've been pretty much living with Gus and Maddie. Gus's music is really getting attention now on soundcloud. i've been helping film his music videos. he's taking it really seriously now and it's making me very proud of him.
my phones buzzes one was maddie saying she'll be home soon from school and the other was xavier looking for some bud and xans. i grab my scale and weighed out what he asked for and put it in baggies.
i leave maddies rooms and ask her mom who's pretty much my mom to Borrow her car to run and grab something from the store.
"yeah just don't be to long i have to go out in a hour, the keys are on the hook." kris says to me with a warm smile on her face. i give her a quick thank you and leave the house. i get into the car putting my purse with xavier's shit in it in the back seat. i hook my phone up to the bluetooth and go onto sound cloud playing on of Gus's songs.
pulling out of the drive way making my way to my destination. i get there in under 10 minutes sending him a text that i'm here and coming into his house.
i walk into his house going into the living room knowing he would be there.
"hey" xavier says looking up from his xbox to look at me and turing of his game.
"hey" i take out the stuff from my bag handing it to him.
"thank you." he says giving me the $200. i smile giving him a silent thank you. i stand the a little bit awkwardly because me and xavier haven't been alone together in awhile.
"so how are you and gus doin?" he asked breaking the silence.
"good we're good he's still making music getting a lot more attention now to and he's really good at it."
i rant for a minute about how good his music is. Gus is my favourite topic so i could talk about him for hours.
"yeah i've been listening to it he ain't bad." xavier says in a low voice.
"well i'm gonna get going." i say turning for the door but stop when xavier spoke.
"you know i really miss hanging with you hayes we were really close."
"people grow apart sometimes." i say. i just wanted to leave.
"but you were my first and that's a connection we will always have." i roll my eyes at his comment.
"i'm seeing someone xavier goodbye." i head for the door walking out of it going back to the car calling Gus.
"hey boo" his voice comes through the phone.
"hey gus do you want to hang later or something?" i ask him pulling out of the drive way.
"yeah there's actually something we gotta talk about." his tone in voice changing to a sad one making me worry.
"what do you mean is it bad?" i ask.
"well i guess." he says with a sigh.
"can you tell me now?"
"no it's better if i see you in person." he says.
"look boo i'll see you in a lil i gotta go i'm on face time with tracy working on some shit." he says i hear the call end. anxiety running through my body wondering what he needs to talk about. the name tracy is still new to my ears as he just got the connection with him a couple weeks ago they became pretty close.
i speed up back to maddies house so i can get to gu's faster. i come up to her house getting out of the car fast and going into the house. i see maddies shoes at the door seeing she's home and go to her room.
"hey bitch." she says to me looking up from the bowl she was packing for herself.
"hey." i say.
"what's up you sound sad?"she asks.
"gus told me he needs to talk and i'm worried about what he needs to talk about, like what if he's gonna break up with me because he's to busy or if like i don't know i'm just fucking worried." i let out.
"oh my god don't be stupid Hayes that boy is in love with you. every song he wrote was about you why are you worried it's probably just something small." she says then lights her bong rip. i sigh knowing she's probably right be still thinking the worse.
"look brandon is coming to pick me up we will drop
you off and gustavs place and you'll be able to find out it's not bad." she blows the smoke out of her mouth well talking and getting up spraying perfume.
i shake my head okay.
"he's gonna be here soon so let's go wait in the kitchen." maddie says. i follow her and put my shoes back on heart still racing.
brandon came sooner or later and i was walking
into gus's place. my heart is beating out of my chest as i walk into his room.
"hey boo." he smiles at me coming over and taking me in for a hug. i hug him tight like it would be the last time.
"hey, so what did we need to talk about?" i ask getting right to it. he looks me in the eyes and take me over to sit down on the bed. it must be bad.
"well my music has been taking off and tracy was talking about moving to LA with some people and told me to come.."
LA? that's far, too far from here. my eyebrows pull together in stress. what am i going to do? i can't stay with maddie full time. and i can't stay here with out gus.
Gus notice my face and the worry on it.
"but i was thinking maybe you'd want to come? yoknow you help me film all my music videos and i can't go with out you hayes." he says holding my hands now.
"Gus this is a lot to take in right now. you're moving out to LA and that's far from here. and i can't just pick up and leave with you right now gus. i would love to but everything we know is here. i have no money to spend and they money i do have i was saving for a car." i tell him.
"baby ima make it big one day and you'll never have to pay for shit ever. i'll make you famous boo, give you the world. but we gotta do it together i need you by my side with you, you're my number one fan next to my momma." the hope in his eyes made my heart warm and sad. how could i say no? what and i gonna do? leave everything i know everybody i love? i'm only 17 Gus turned 18 not to long ago. is this a good idea. i stop thinking and say the first word to come to mind.
"yes." gus eyes light up and he jumps on me to give me and hug.
"baby we gonna make it." he smiles.
(ahhhh i'm back i found my password after almost a year lol. but ima try to make this book way better lol.)
