Chapter 6: Trust

Neon green eyes was the first thing that greeted the little girl as she woke up. Though the little girl felt weirded by it, never had she seen those eyes to be worried. It was always either angry, stern and cold all those times she lived in the orphanage. "Yuko-san?" Her raspy voice puzzled her. How long was she asleep?

"Here drink this, Rei." The woman with black hair and neon green eyes offered her a glass of water. Rei sat up accepting the water still dazed from sleeping.

"How long was I asleep, Yuko-san?" She immediately asked as soon as she finished her drink.

Yuko one of the caretakers that had been on Rei's care since she was a baby sat back down on the wooden chair beside Rei's bed while rubbing her temples. The little girl saw how tired and stressed Yuko's eyes were and started noticing how messy her own room was. There were clatters on the floor and the desk, bottle of pills and trays. "Naruto brought you back three days ago on the evening, he said you passed out. Your nose was bleeding."

Upon revealing the fact that she had been asleep for three days straight her mouth hanged open and darted her eyes around the room. The clatters were plates and clothes, the items used while recovering. She unconsciously reached for her nose that was said to be bleeding. 'I do remember the last bit of that.' Then she frowned only recalling a hazy part of the conversation with Naruto. 'But what happened?'

"What happened to me?"

Yuko looked at her like the caretaker herself was not sure of what she has tell her. "Well," The older woman started. "We called a medic ninja as soon as we saw the state you were in. The medic ninja said it was chakra exhaustion, which Kaori and I hardly believed at first."

Rei's whole body tensed, she had never told Yuko and Kaori her secret training every single day.

"I didn't believe it but a young male shinobi came by asking for you yesterday, if something has happened to you. He looked worried." Yuko eyed the little girl and sighed exhaustedly.

"Do you have something to tell me, Rei?"

'Shisui-sensei...' She frowned and didn't even know the reason of the chakra exhaustion either.

She tried to recall that day, she didn't train Naruto but she invited him to ramen. After that they went to the Hyuga Compound to look for Hinata because of some disturbance in the chronological order of the timeline of the series. She found her being beaten up by kids.

'Then I...'

A knock came from the door, Yuko stood up to open it revealing the matron, Kaori. The matron looked relieved seeing the little girl was finally awake and began to speak up. "Rei, you have visitors. Yuko and I will leave you with them, if you still feel unwell just say so, okay?"

Rei nods slightly at the matron as both her and Yuko began cleaning the room and left the room right after.

It opened several seconds later and her visitors revealed themselves to be her sensei and the Sandaime leading her to sit up straighter of the unannounced visit.

"H-hokage-sama and Shisui-sensei." She stammered.

The Sandaime did not wear his hat which showed his greying hair while Shisui was in his normal clothing but the long sleeves were no longer there.

When the Sandaime positioned his chair facing Rei and sat, he motioned for Shisui to stand on the side so he was also on the older man's vision. While Shisui showed a little relief that she was fine, the older seemed to show a neutral expression.
