As Five lay there, staring at Four and Leafy crouched over Pin, something stirred within them. Memories from years ago, from deep within their mind. They tried to get up but felt the weight of multiple others pile on top of them. The world around them had already been tinted with a sort of darkness, but now, as they lay half suffocated, the darkness only enveloped them even more. Finally, they slipped into a sort of sleep, memories enveloping them and taking them back to a time from what seemed like long ago.

Five and Four were locked in a friendly tussle, laughing as they rolled across the clearing. Close by were X, Two, and Seven, watching and rooting them on. They were all acting like what they were, kids, youngsters. None of them had been chosen for a purpose yet, nor did any of them plan to be. Five pinned Four, a smug smile plastered on their face.

"I win!" Five exclaimed, hopping of Four. Four groaned, but it wasn't a mad groan. Then someone appeared, one of the higher-ranked numbers, Six.

"Four. X. You two have been chosen to run a show called BFB, you are expected to be there by tomorrow, pack what you need and be on your way." Six said out of the blue before walking away, leaving the small group stunned. Five felt dread crash over them like a wave, they had always wanted to host a show, but now their friends were being sent away to do so. They looked towards Four and X, who were also clearly shocked.

"Congratulations, you two!" Seven and Two said and unison, looking at Four and X, but Five stayed silent. They tensed up as anger washed over them. They should be the one with the show! They turned and stalked off, leaving behind their friends. They would show their friends, they would show them all! They could host a show. They would host a show. As they walked away, they took one last glance over their shoulder, seeing their friends' now dismayed faces. They looked back forward as they stalked away. They would never see those two as their friends again. From now on, they were their enemies.

The darkness that had enveloped Five lifted, and he felt himself wake up, the suffocating feeling was still there, and he knew that he was still being held down. A wave of new anger crashed over them. They were fueled with energy as they used their powers to throw the other cats off of them. They looked at Four, who was crouched beside Pin. Five felt guilt, anger, and sadness hit him for a second, all at once, as he stared at the scene. Leafy was nudging Pin, weak and desperate.

"Please, Pin, get up. I need you." Leafy said, and that alone almost broke Five. But then they felt even angrier. This was all Four's fault.

"You." Five's voice boomed, startling Four, but Leafy seemed too numb to notice them. Five charged at Four, slamming into him, and just like when the two used to play fight all those years ago, they tussled, but it wasn't just play fighting anymore. Five's powerful muscles rippled under his fur, and all of a sudden Four seemed frail and old. Five smirked, having Four pinned under him.

"Seems your in quite the... sticky situation, Four." Five hissed, their voice slick and cold. Four stared at Five, his gaze full of terror, but also something else, was that guilt that Five saw glinting in Four's eyes?

"It isn't my fault that I-" Four started, before Five cut him off with a sharp blow to the muzzle. Five didn't even respond to Four, but simply stared at him, their eyes blazing with endless fury. Everyone stared, but no one dared to intervene as Five raised his paw, claws unsheathed. A tense silence hung in the air as Five stood there, but they couldn't bring themself to land the killing blow. They simply stood there, paw raised.

"Go on. Kill me. Here and now." Four said, not even trying to get up. Five was gripped by a sudden fear, and he felt as though he were a small kitten again, being scolded by the older numbers.

"I-I can't..." Five whispered, stepping away from Four. Four got up and looked at Five.

"I always knew you were a coward." Four spat, and this set Five off, making them launch at Four again. The two fought for a bit, Five losing at first, but Four started to tire out. Five finally, once again, had Four pinned under them.

"I was never a coward." Five spat, staring at Four.

"Then why won't you kill me?" Four hissed.

"Because, letting you live is a far worse punishment than death." Five hissed back.

"How so-" Four didn't finish before Five grabbed the sharpest object nearby, a random piece of metal, and sliced into Four's left upper leg. Four let out a loud yowl of pain, starting to thrash, but Five didn't care and continued to slice into Four's leg, right to the bone. Four's screeches only grew louder as Five cut through his bone with the sharp metal piece. Five didn't even realize what they were doing until they finally stopped to see. They had somehow completely cut Four's upper left leg off. Five felt and saw blood practically everywhere, and back away, horrified at what they had done. They looked up at the other cats around, but there was only horror written on their faces. Five turned around and saw what else they had done, their eyes landing on Pin, still and unmoving. Five couldn't believe themself. Five let out a painful groan from behind them, and they whipped around. Four was laying there, blood splattered across the green grass. Five felt blood on themself, and looked at their paws, which were soaked in blood at this point. They stared at Four for what seemed like a century, pure and utter silence laying like a blanket over the clearing, even the birds had stopped singing. Five couldn't believe themself. They walked up to Four, who had passed out.

"I'm sorry..." They started, then trailed off.

"I'm sorry brother."
