After about two weeks, we decide to go home. We now have our own house, chosen by Dawson's parents.
Once we're there, we get the key from under a rock, he unlocks the door, opening it, and letting me in first. He comes in, closing the door behind us. We look around, astonished. This place is amazing. And its our house.
We finally find the bedroom, putting our bags down. I pick up our duffel bag for our toiletries, medicine, etc., and we walk to the bathroom. I put the toilet cover down and sit on it, laying the bag down. He squats down in front of me and opens the bag.
I see my pack of tampons. I realized, I haven't had my period since the wedding. I ask "How many days has it been since the wedding?"
"Nineteen days. Why?"
"Fuck. I missed my period." He just stands there like he's lost.
"Eh..umm..what does that mean?"
"It means I'm...pre-pre-pregnant." I stutter.
"Oh...ummm... Well... Are you sure?"
"Pretty sure. Lemme call my mom. Gimme your phone." He hands me his phone and I dial my mom's number.
"Umm... Hey mom..."
"Yeah sweetie?"
"I think I'm pregnant." There's silence at the other end of the line. "Mom, you there?"
"Yeah honey. How do you know?"
"I missed my period."
"Oh. Here's what I want you to do. Go to Walgreen's or Walmart or somewhere like that and get a pregnancy test and do it."
"Okay mom. I can have him go as soon as he can."
"Okay honey. Listen, I want you to stay home, okay?"
"Okay mom. I love you."
"Love you too. Bye." She says as she hangs up.
"When can you go?" I ask Dawson.
"Right now. Give me the keys." I toss him the keys. He has a worried look on his face.
He walks out, getting in the car. I look on the counter, he forgot his phone. I grab it, and run out to the car before he leaves. I knock on his window, he opens it. "You forgot your phone."
"Thanks baby. I don't know what I'd do without you." He says then he kisses me. I walk away as he pulls out of the driveway. I go back inside, to find something to eat.
I make myself a peanut putter and jelly sandwich.
After about ten minutes, he comes back. I feel like I'm going to puke, so I run to the bathroom. I do puke. Dawson walks in, sees me, and says, "Paige, my dear, are you okay?"
"Yeah," I manage to squeak out. I close the lid to the toilet and flush. He hands me the pregnancy test.
I turn it over and tell Dawson, "Can you please leave?" He nods and leaves the room.
I do what the pregnancy test says to, and it comes out positive. "Dawson! Come here!" I yell.
"Yes, baby?" He says as he rubs his hand lightly down my back.
"It came out positive." He hugs me. "I need to call Mom."
I get Dawson's phone out and dial my mom's number once again. "Mom?" I say.
"Yes, dear?"
"I'm pregnant." I hear her squeal in the background.
"I'm so happy for you sweetie!"
"Thanks, mom. Make sure you tell the family, okay?"
"Okay, sweetie. I love you. Bye!"
"You too. Bye." I say as I hang up.
"You might want to call your parents too. They should know," I say to Dawson.
"Okay. Give me the phone." I hand over the phone and he calls his mom. He walks away to talk to her.
After around five minutes, he comes back. "She said she's very happy for us." He says. I smile, him coming closer to me.
I hug him and brush my teeth. When I get done brushing my teeth, I kiss him. He holds my hands, and I feel his breath on my cheeks.
I look in the mirror, turning sideways. I'm starting to get a baby bump. He is now behind me, laying his hands on my stomach, smiling. "Why are you smiling?" I ask.
"Because I'm happy. I'm happy we're having a child together," he says, kissing the top of my head. "You're so beautiful." I blush.
He picks me up and carries me bridle style to the couch. He lays me down, gently. He sits next to me and I say, "Come closer." He scoots closer to me and I grab the collar of his shirt to pull him even more closer. I kiss his hard, his hands cupping my face. "Baby, please." I beg.
"I don't want to hurt you. Or the baby." He replies.
"You're not going to hurt it or me." I say. "Dawson, please?" He finally gives up and kisses me like he always has. "I love you," I whisper.
"I love you too, darling."
"God you're amazing. I don't really know what I'd do without you." We now stop kissing.
"Ow, it hurts!" I say, my stomach hurting badly. I feel a tear going down my cheek, then another, then another.
He gets as close as he can to me and kisses my temple. "Its okay, baby. I'm here. I won't leave until you tell me to," he says. I smile slightly, the pain excruciating. "You're beautiful, even with makeup running down your face," he says as he wipes the tears off my face.
"H-hey babe?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you get me Starbucks?"
"Umm.... Sure. What do you want?"
"An iced cappuccino please?"
"Okay, sweetie. Are you sure you want me to leave?"
"Yeah." He gets up and gets the car keys and his phone. He walks out the door, leaving me lie there.
A few minutes later, he comes back, an iced cappuccino in his hand. He hands me the cup and says, "There you go, sweetheart."
"Thank you." He lays down behind me, his arm going around my waist. I take a sip of the cappuccino and say, "Mmmm. Yummy." He chuckles.
"You're so adorable," he says. I let out a little giggle.
"I know." He smiles, fighting a laugh. He picks me up, carries me to the bedroom. He lays me on the bed, gently. "Get me some PJs right now."
He gets out a Sleeping With Sirens band T-shirt and a pair of black booty shorts. "Really? Booty shorts?" I say.
"Yeah. Either that or your underwear."
"Okay. Booty shorts it is." He tosses over the clothes, and I catch them. I slide on the booty shorts, along with my shirt. He's now just in his briefs, and I just realized, I'm staring at his butt.
"What are you looking at?" He asks.
"You. You and you only." He grins. I lay back down, Dawson holding me close. He kisses me, the result of me smiling. He kisses the top of my head and says, "Goodnight, my beautiful princess."
"Goodnight, my knight in shining armor." I nuzzle up to his chest, his warmth filling my body with joy. "I love," I fell asleep midsentence.
