❝𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓫𝓮𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓲𝓼 𝓪𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓽𝓸𝓭𝓪𝔂.❞

Mary Shelley

I stepped out of Robby's van, but not before kissing him. On the lips, as a couple. It's a new experience to not just run around with him and actually be something to him, his girlfriend. No longer just friends with benefits.

He whispered in my ear immediately after our lips parted, "I'll pick you up for your lunch break?" I smiled and kissed him again, "Duh, I'd love to check out your new dojo too." He smiled seemingly excited that I was interested in his karate, "Can't wait."

I jumped out of his van and hurried to the diner.  My teal dress with the attached apron flapped in the wind. This morning, Stacy asked me to come early today to discuss my request for more hours and schedule change.

With the cobra kai nearby becoming popular, business with the diner had also increased because of the close proximity and it is the only food place around beside the gas station. I guess the karate geeks like coffee and hashbrown after their lessons?

Another thing Stacy had also informed me of this morning was a new employee. Probably since she had been struggling with only Becky and me she had hired someone else.

I walked in through the front door seeing only Stacy and my new co-worker sitting at a booth. I could only see the back of my new co-workers head which had shoulder-length brown and blonde hair. Stacy was the first to notice me since she was the only one of the two facing me. She waved me over and I could hear her tell the new employee, "There's Y/n, you'll be sharing shifts with her. Trust me she'll be the biggest help." I could tell that she meant I would be the one to train her by that sentence. Of course, Stacy is too lazy and busy to help out. Whenever Becky and I need help she always neglects us and expresses that she is too busy and simply doesn't have the time.

I drop my roller skates on the tile floor and sit next to Stacy on her side of the booth. "I'm Y/n. You must be the new employee?" I state the obvious.

She smiles warmly, "Yeah, I'm Tory. It's nice to meet you." Her voice is coarse but also sweet giving it a comforting tone. I could listen to it all day.

I can clearly see her face now: she has a heart-shaped face with perfect symmetry, perfect features, and blue eyes. To be outright she is stunning.

Stacy informed Tory and me that our new extended shifts will be hours longer with additional days, which I don't mind. Our shifts will be at the same time so we will be closing up together at the end of the day and starting our shifts together in the early evenings.

Once Stacy informs us of our schedules she announces, "Well I must be going. If you have any questions ask someone other than me because I don't care."

Tory and I hit it off. We quickly got along and there was never a moment of silence. We had endless conversations in which topics drifted between things constantly.

She had told me about her need for now multiple jobs since her mother became sick and with her dad isn't in the picture, and how every responsibility is being pushed upon her. I told her that I would be there if she ever needed my help.

By the end of the day, we had each other's contacts, and she invited me to a party at her friend Lucas's apartment.
